Thursday's Connections Abound

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The Face-to-Face Lost and Found page is permanently located beneath this current post. Old Connections Abound can be accessed via the date or subject archives listed on the sidebar. Check the submissions page, FAQ, and ways to get involved for additional information. Email me at thetowncriers@gmail.com with any questions/concerns.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the
infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

Connections Abound

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS
New
  • No Connections Abound tomorrow or Monday due to Pesach. I'll be back on Tuesday (though I may post over the weekend if I get a moment). Sniff.
  • U.T.E.R.U.S. Update: you may have noticed the very cool new ad I have on my sidebar over at Stirrup Queens. Go take a peek at Spuddy Buddy. That ad space is for people who bid on it and all of the money goes to UTERUS. Therefore, support the blogger or business who purchases the space and if you want it, go bid on it over at the US eBay site. I'll design your ad and hopefully you'll get a few new readers in the process. By the way,we have so many cool auctions running on the US eBay right now and need your help to advertise it. Please put in a plug anywhere you post and make the US eBay auction as successful as the UK one!
  • Invite-Only: Chris from Love, Hope, and Faith had to go invite-only for a while. If you would like to keep reading along, email Chris.
  • Question: Denise at Freezer Buns has a question about thin lining, but with a high estrogen level. If so, were you successful in building your lining with some other type of medication (other than estrogen therapy such as Estrace) so that your E2 level did not skyrocket? If you can answer her question, head over to her blog.
  • Question: Losing the Baby Wait has questions about choosing an adoption agency (especially if you know North Texas). Head over to her blog if you can help.
  • Question: Tina has up a question for a friend about secondary IF and insurance. She is also looking to get her friend some support and advice from chickies who have been there. Please head over and weigh in.
Old
  • Colorado Bloggers: It's not too late to RSVP for the ColoBloggers gathering this Saturday. Get info here.
  • Class: Lori from Weebles Wobblog is offering a class in Denver on Open Adoption, which she teaches with her daughter's birthmother . The two-hour class will be offered three times, with the first offering being in late May. Contact Lori for more information or visit this link for specifics.
  • Book Club Sign Up: Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen begins tomorrow and all are welcome to join along. A book club from the comfort of your own living room...
  • Team On the Road continues to truck along. There are now three teams walking in honour of Lennox and Zoe: Stirrup Queens, My Perky Ovaries, and In Search of Biscuit 2.0. I cannot thank enough those who have donated or posted the code for Team On the Road. We've currently raised $2709! If you would like to help with our March of Dimes fundraising, read this post and join along. There are at least five things you could do!
  • If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!
NEW BLOGS (started in March or April 2008)
  • None Today.
BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES (celebrate your birthday or blogoversary with the community. Send me date at any point and I'll post them on the correct day)
  • Happy Anniversary, Braces Bunch. Braces Bunch turns one today. A note from JJ: thanks for all the great snail-mail that has circulated this past year.
  • Stacie's birthday is this Friday. Please go over and sing her a song--this is the first birthday she will be celebrating without her father. It was also her blogoversary yesterday!
  • Chicklet's blogoversary is this Friday. Go congratulate her on a year of posts.
LOSS REMEMBRANCES (send in the dates of loss anniversaries and I will post them on the correct day)
  • Yesterday was the one year anniversary of the Young and the Infertile's first loss. Please go give her a hug.
  • JuliaS will be remembering Caelan on Monday. Please go give her a hug.
  • AMS at Our Own Creation will be remembering Lennox and Zoe on Wednesday on what would have been their due date had they not been born early. Please go over there and support her.
LOSS ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • None Today.
MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT AND CELEBRATIONS (scary scans, anxious waits, OHSS, and a host of other reasons why these bloggers could use some additional support right now. Also, celebratory retrievals, transfers, and other good news)
  • The Idle Mind of Beth is having surgery on Friday--go wish her a speedy recovery.
  • Retrieval is most likely on Monday for Are We There Yet? Go wish her good luck.
  • Barren by the Bay had three five day blasts transferred on Tuesday and probably has some left over to freeze!
  • Swim at The Long Challenging Road is in the 2ww of a converted IUI and could use some support.
  • Rebeccah at Chasing a Child found out she passed the bar (the same bar she took while undergoing IVF!)
  • Infertile Ground had a cyst-free suppression check and is moving along nicely with her second IVF.
  • Riding the Rollercoaster is having an IUI Thursday, her first with injectables.
  • Mean Mama is okay after some pain and spotting, though it looks like labour is imminent.
  • Just What I Always Wanted's eggs didn't fertilize. Please go give her a hug.
  • I'm a Smart One starts cycling for gestational surrogacy IVF#2 today. This will be her intended mother’s last try with her eggs before moving on to surrogacy with donor egg.
  • Sarah Solitaire received bad news with the CGH results. Please go over and give her support.
BEDREST BABES: on bedrest following infertility or loss and needing support. Drop in on them and keep them company.

  • Tracy is back on bedrest after the tear in her placenta became bigger. Please go over and give her support.
  • Life As a Sandwich is on bedrest this week due to placental abruption (though she is now home from the hospital). Go over and keep her company.
  • Mean Mama (originally BlogPicchiPacchi) is on bedrest at 30 weeks. Go over and keep her company.
  • Schatzi is on "increased rest" and will most likely be on bedrest for a large portion of her pregnancy.
  • When All Else Fails... is on bedrest due to a shortened cervix.
