Thursday's Connections Abound

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The Face-to-Face Lost and Found page is permanently located beneath this current post. Old Connections Abound can be accessed via the date or subject archives listed on the sidebar. Check the submissions page, FAQ, and ways to get involved for additional information. Email me at with any questions/concerns.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

Connections Abound

  • Tomorrow is the 200th edition of Lost & Found.
  • Question: City Girl Tales is traveling cross country with Bat Girl next week and she would like tips on how to keep a 2.5 year old entertained on a plane!
  • Question: Mothering My Miracle Multiples has a legal question about things that need to be in order when traveling and leaving children with family members.
  • Second to last day to sign-up for the Roundup Extravaganza (the summer version of the Creme de la Creme). Head over if you want to participate.
  • If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!
NEW BLOGS (started in May or June 2008)
BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES (celebrate your birthday or blogoversary with the community. Send me date at any point and I'll post them on the correct day)
  • Blood Signs is celebrating her birthday tomorrow. Go sing her a little song.
LOSS REMEMBRANCES (send in the dates of loss anniversaries and I will post them on the correct day)
  • On Friday, Tina will be remembering her second loss on the baby's unfulfilled due date. Please go give her a hug.
  • 2 Weeks 2 Much is experiencing a loss right now. Please go over and give her support.
  • Babytorud has had an early loss. Please go and give her some support.
MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT AND CELEBRATIONS (scary scans, anxious waits, OHSS, and a host of other reasons why these bloggers could use some additional support right now. Also, celebratory retrievals, transfers, and other good news)
  • Lindsay, the syringe-wielding fairy godmother, hit the end of her IVF journey yesterday. They will be only pursuing adoption at this point. And while I am joyful for this next leg of the journey and the fact that I get to haul out all of those funky scrapbooking scissors (while we make our husbands fix us mixed drinks), I know she could use a hug as she goes through the ups and downs of closure.
  • Baby Step had her transfer. Go wish her luck in the wait.
  • Infertility and Hope has started cycling for her first IVF.
  • IVF after Gastric Bypass Surgery is recovering from a ruptured ectopic and removal of her left fallopian tube. Please send her warm thoughts as she heals.
  • IVF Drama Unscripted is battling OHSS after a retrieval of 30 eggs. They are planning a 5-day transfer on Friday, but only if it is not canceled due to fluid retention. Please send her good thoughts.
  • Luna is moving forward with adoption as her pathway to parenthood!
  • Lupus Pie is in the 2ww of a single embryo transfer!
  • Busted Babymaker will be proceeding with her FET. They will be transferring only one as her MFM thinks it is too dangerous and risky to carry multiples. Please go over and give her support.
  • Gas Passer could use some support right now. Her cervix is softening and it is still early in the pregnancy. She could use a hug and some good thoughts.
BEDREST BABES: on bedrest following infertility or loss and needing support. Drop in on them and keep them company.
  • Trying is on bedrest due to gestational hypertension and low amniotic fluid.
  • Schatzi is on "increased rest" and will most likely be on bedrest for a large portion of her pregnancy.
  • When All Else Fails... is on bedrest due to a shortened cervix.
  • Geohde is on increased rest too as she keeps in the twins to 32 weeks.
  • Crowded Uterus Syndrome is on bedrest.
  • Milenka is in the hospital on bedrest due to low fluid.
  • Waiting For...? is on bedrest after leaking fluid and a rupture of membranes for one of the twins.
  • It Will Happen is on bedrest for a shortened cervix.
  • Gas Passer is on bedrest for the rest of her pregnancy.
  • Living with the Cards I Was Dealt is on bedrest because of abdominal pressure and placenta being very close to cervix.
  • Brenda at Life Can Be a Shit is scheduled for her C-section at 7:30am tomorrow.
  • Baby Dust Diaries saw the heartbeat.
  • Fantastic first beta for Where's My Belly? Her next one is on Friday.
  • Just Off Magazine has unexpected positive and safely-rising betas one month prior to starting an IVF cycle with a new clinic. Her first ultrasound has been scheduled for July 9, please send her good thoughts as she waits.
  • Sam is here! Please go tell Vacantuterus congratulations on her new son.
  • Kelly gave birth to Noelle and Lucas on June 25th. Go wish her congratulations.
  • Illiterati is the now the proud mom baby girl Libby, born on Tuesday. Go wish her congratulations.
