Tuesday's Connections Abound

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The Face-to-Face Lost and Found page is permanently located beneath this current post. Old Connections Abound can be accessed via the date or subject archives listed on the sidebar. Check the submissions page, FAQ, and ways to get involved for additional information. Email me at thetowncriers@gmail.com with any questions/concerns.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS
New
  • Things are amiss at IVFConnections. A note on the board says that the server will be down for the rest of Tuesday. Anyone else know anything?
Old
  • Fundraiser: The Johnson Family is organizing a Big Give for Matt of Matt, Liz, and Madeline. For those who don't know, in a 27 hour period (March 24 and 25), Madeline was born and Liz died. Matt is raising their daughter alone. If you would like to participate, please visit this blog and read how you can donate. Also please leave other ideas you have to help out in the comments section.
  • Advocacy: Fertility Notes has a post about how you can support HR 2892: The Family Building Act.
  • Answer: for NaComLeavMo, there are a few blogs that entered, but people can't leave comments (one is invite-only and a few others are LiveJournal blogs that require the commentor to have an LJ account). You'll have to skip over those--they won't count towards Iron Commentor status.
  • If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!
NEW BLOGS (started in May or June 2008)
BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES (celebrate your birthday or blogoversary with the community. Send me date at any point and I'll post them on the correct day)
  • I missed one person in the birthday troika (trifecta? triathalon?): it was Meghan's birthday yesterday. Please go over and flood her with birthday wishes.
  • It was also Aly's birthday over in China. Go celebrate with Alyson and Ford over their daughter's birthday.
  • CDE's birthday is this Thursday. Go over and sing him a song.
  • It's the 5 year anniversary of Emilie and Steve. Go give them congratulations.
LOSS REMEMBRANCES (send in the dates of loss anniversaries and I will post them on the correct day)
  • Tomorrow, JuliaS will be remembering the loss of her son Zach. Please go give her a hug.
LOSS ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • May is currently experiencing a loss. Please go over and give her a hug.
  • The Baby Chase had a low second beta and the pregnancy has been determined non-viable. Please go give her a hug as she goes through this fourth loss.
MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT AND CELEBRATIONS (scary scans, anxious waits, OHSS, and a host of other reasons why these bloggers could use some additional support right now. Also, celebratory retrievals, transfers, and other good news)
  • The Next Chapter has her egg donor selected!
  • Dramalish had only one mature follicle (and a half!) at her scan and is frustrated. Go over and give her support.
  • Babies or Not is not closing her blog but she will be drifting away temporarily as she pursues other projects and focuses on other things. Go wish her good luck.
  • Baby Dreams will probably trigger tonight for this IUI cycle. Go wish her good luck.
  • Fertility Notes is having a hysteroscopy and endometrial biopsy today. Ouch. Go over and keep her company during the recovery.
  • Frustrated Musings of a Seemingly Calm Gal is celebrating her 50th post with a thanks to readers.
BEDREST BABES: on bedrest following infertility or loss and needing support. Drop in on them and keep them company.
  • Kami is on modified bedrest for the rest of her pregnancy.
  • Wielecki Twins is on bedrest with high blood pressure.
  • Trying is on bedrest due to gestational hypertension and low amniotic fluid.
  • Tracy is on modified bedrest and will probably remain like this for the remainder of the pregnancy.
  • Schatzi is on "increased rest" and will most likely be on bedrest for a large portion of her pregnancy.
  • When All Else Fails... is on bedrest due to a shortened cervix.
  • Geohde is on increased rest too as she keeps in the twins to 32 weeks.
  • Crowded Uterus Syndrome is on bedrest.
  • The Adventures of Jonny and Flo is on bedrest after an increase in Braxton-Hicks contractions.

I know that you know ALL (smile), but just in case, Mama Wannabe is pregnant! Or at least um... she had a high beta.

Yay!

Hey Mel, thanks for the well wishes. I'm home and resting. All went well - I was nicely sedated. And hubby and I are actually feeling quite optimistic about the next FET cycle. :-)
