Thursday's Connections Abound

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The Face-to-Face Lost and Found page is permanently located beneath this current post. Old Connections Abound can be accessed via the date or subject archives listed on the sidebar. Check the submissions page, FAQ, and ways to get involved for additional information. Email me at with any questions/concerns.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

Connections Abound

  • The next 100 Words Project is up on the Bridges site. The theme for October is Love. Please participate--the one for September 11th was amazing. The deadline is October 2nd.
  • IComLeavWe for September has begun.
  • Bridges continues to post daily. And it continues to be an amazing resource for insight into a multitude of worlds. And I'm not just saying that because I work on it.
  • Read It: Mrs. Spock's article is up on the OBOS website! Go over to read Pregnancy After Infertility Or Previous Pregnancy Loss. It is excellent and I'm so proud of her and for OBOS for providing information on pregnancy specifically after IF.
  • Participate: My Sanctuary is kicking off another virtual world tour. It is easy to participate and get in on the fun.
  • Question: My Scar Smiles at Me has a question about thanking an egg donor. Go over and try to answer it. And wish her congratulations while you're there because it's her 100th post!
  • Question: No Swimmers has a question up for a fellow IFer. She writes: "I don't want to give too many details, but it looks like they're dealing with MF: low sperm count. They were told last week that their only chance at conceiving will be IVF with ICSI. My request to the blogosphere: send me any links/tips/pieces of advice you found helpful when you started out on this journey."
  • Question: So These are the Days of My Life has a question about washing baby clothes. Go over and answer it if you can.
  • Opportunity: I've been asked to post this message though don't know anything about this study: "Neurocrine Biosciences (a San Diego biotechnology company) is conducting an endometriosis patient research survey as a part of our ongoing efforts to understand the disease of endometriosis and the needs of women suffering from its debilitating symptoms. The first 50 qualified participants will receive a $25 honoraria for participating. The survey should take approximately 30 minutes to complete. The information you provide will develop our understanding of the symptoms of endometriosis, the process leading to your diagnosis, and the available treatment options. At the same time, this information will guide decisions on the clinical development of an investigational drug having the potential to treat the symptoms of endometriosis. Your responses are completely confidential, and all results will be used at the aggregate level and only for research purposes. If you are interested in participating, please send an e-mail to, and we will contact you directly to fill out a screener to determine your eligibility. We appreciate your willingness to share your experience and the important guidance you will provide to our efforts to develop a better treatment alternative. Kind Regards from Neurocrine Biosciences."
  • If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!

She was brought into our lives through the miracle of Open Domestic Adoption. I have posted a little note today (Wednesday about Julia's birthmother calling and I hope to post again Sunday after the party. Her birthmother called me to let me know they should be there Saturday.
