Wednesday's Connections Abound

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The point to Lost and Found is to level the support playing field. When LFCA works correctly, the newest blogger with the smallest readership can receive the same level of support as the oldest blogger with the largest readership. Anyone can submit news to LFCA by clicking here.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS
New
  • Kirtsy'd Pick O' the Day: Please vote for this one from All Things Deb. A post about the logistics of the adoption option without getting into the emotional side. It's an excellent post to keep in your back pocket and yank out the next time says, "why don't you just adopt?". How do you vote? Simply by clicking on the words "this one" above and then clicking on the post's title. Why the Kirtsy'd Pick O' the Day? Click on that link in the header navigation bar above for the story. And send me stuff!
  • Deadline is Friday: 155 people already on the The Creme de la Creme List. Are you?
  • Interview Opportunity: [note from Mel: this was sent to me from a blogger, but I can actually vouch for the writer, Pamela Paul. She's fantastic and very smart--great writer]: "I am interested in talking to women who have been treated unsuccessfully for infertility within the last five years for a story on fertility treatment. Story will be about both success and failure, but only need unsuccessful stories at this point. Please respond via email."
  • Question: Kim is searching for anyone who has had a child diagnosed with RSV more than once in the SAME SEASON. Please e-mail her at trying4two at gmail dot com.
  • Question: One Small Wish transferred 2! Given that only 3 of 19 became embryos, there is some poor equality. Go over to her blog if you have any info/resources on DHEA and egg quality.
Old
  • Project: Cara at Building Heavenly Bridges has started a monthly raffle. If you are a scrapbooker (or know one that you like to give things to) check this out. Each $10 donation is an entry. Link to her blog and get a free ticket. All proceeds go to Share Southern Vermont to support grieving families.
  • New IComLeavWe list opened for December (with a caveat about participating over Christmas). Come join along and increase your comments.
  • Bridges continues to post daily. And it continues to be an amazing resource for insight into a multitude of worlds. And I'm not just saying that because I work on it.
  • If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!

MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT AND CELEBRATIONS (scary scans, anxious waits, OHSS, and a host of other reasons why these bloggers could use some additional support right now. Also, celebratory retrievals, transfers, and other good news)
  • My Organized Chaos is organizing support for a friend with end-stage cancer. Please go leave messages on her blog and she will make sure they are read to her.
  • Liza's adoption hearing is tomorrow. Go give her good thoughts.
  • Bunny started bleeding on Saturday and she is in a holding pattern until her ultrasound today. Please go keep her company.
  • Lindsay is going for her follow-up OB appointment since the last miscarriage on Thursday. She is nervous and excited all at the same time but ultimately hoping it leads to a positive plan of action for staying pregnant the next time.
  • Fat Chick is bummed because her ovaries are two lazy disappointments, unwilling to grow follicles at anything other than a snail's pace. However, she's glad that this will be the last of the Clomid cycles. The Clomid Crazies were getting to her.
  • Courtney has her first U/S on Wednesday. Go sit with her as she waits anxiously.
  • The Infertile Journey has her beta after IVF #2 today and she is stressed out worrying about it. Go give her support.
  • Maria's godmother passed away last week. Keep Maria's family and her godmother's family in your thoughts as they grieve.
  • Valerie is having a Novasure procedure on Thursday to hopefully help with an out of control AF. She could use some prayers.
  • Bunny's ultrasound wasn't ideal, but offered a glimmer of hope. She is on bedrest until Friday's ultrasound.
BEDREST BABES: on bedrest following infertility or loss and needing support. Drop in on them and keep them company.
  • Denise is on bedrest at home.
  • Dee is on bedrest after Pprom at 13 weeks. She could use support as she helps her babies defy the odds. She has made it past 20 weeks and found a specialist to take her on.
  • Elana had the cerclage and is now at home on modified bed rest.
PREGNANCY ANNOUNCEMENTS AND NEWS
  • None Today.
BIRTH AND ADOPTION ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • Arianna gave birth to a boy, Beckett, yesterday. Go over and wish her congratulations on Rachel's blog.
