- Happy last day of 2008.
- Kirtsy'd Pick O' the Day: Please vote for this one from Dreams and False Alarms. A beautiful post in which the author takes some wise words from a friend to heart and redefines "fertility." How do you vote? Simply by clicking on the words "this one" above and then clicking on the post's title. Why the Kirtsy'd Pick O' the Day? Click on that link in the header navigation bar above for the story. And send me stuff!
- Creme de la Creme: the Creme de la Creme list is currently at 191 participants. It will be posted on January 1st.
- Political Action: There is a movement in AR to repeal the IVF mandate. In the Conceivable Future wrote a post about it and the state Rep responsible for trying to repeal the IVF mandate in AR found her IF blog and left a message! She writes, "We have his attention, let's give him our opinion." Head over and tell him your IF and insurance story.
- Freelance Writer Seeking Stories: "If you've struggled to conceive a child and found ways to cope, I'd love to include you in my blog! (http://theadventurouswriter.
com/blogbaby/ ). I'm looking for brief, effective ways to cope with the disappointment of not getting pregnant. Email me lauriekienlen@yahoo.ca, and I'll include your full name, occupation, and website (and book, too, if you'd like!). I'll send you the link when the article is live." - Update from Bea at Infertile Fantasies: Bea is traveling right now and doesn't have great computer access. She writes: "I'm feeling frustrated and fed up and sleep deprived and worn out and very much over the whole family visit thing and dying to go home again and catch up with the blogging world, in which hopefully everything is going ok, and that it's still ten times better than being the infertile person at the family holiday gathering. And apologies for my absence in the meantime." You can leave her a note here and I'll forward them to her.
- New Site: I received an email the other day, "I am an adoptive mom who struggled with IF for four years. I recently started a not for profit, Parenthood for Me.org. Our mission is to provide financial and emotional assistance to those starting families through adoption and medical intervention. Please visit my website. Pass the link on."
- Connections Wanted: Crazy Miracle Called Life writes: "I've had a severe illness since age 5. The likelihood that I can conceive is low although it has been documented in my cases, however, it would pose such a danger to my life that no doctor will support me in it...I want a baby so badly, but I don't have any hope anywhere. I was just wondering if you knew of anyone else in my situation. I need some hope and encouragement but it seems everyone with IVF at least has a chance to get pregnant, you know? I'm "not allowed" - like I'm a little kid or something." She is looking for others who had treatments off the table due to medical reasons.
- Connections Wanted: Praising Always is seeking to connect with others who have had a failed vasectomy reversal.
- Connection Wanted: An anonymous blogger asks: "I have undergone 4 IUI's, 5 IVF's and 2 FET's so far, with another FET coming up. I had a miscarriage after IVF #2. Although there is no medical reason - apart from, probably, my age by now (41) why things don't work out - my husband and I have started to think about donor eggs. In Spain. Would you happen to have any idea where I can find...? a) personal views on the ethics of egg donation (i.e. people who are/were in a similar situation and resolved this or are trying to) b) experiences with hospitals in Spain." If you can help her out--have used donor eggs or if you've had experience in Spain--please leave a note in the comment section of this post or email me and I will connect you.
- Contest: Another contest over at The Story of Me. Describe your "peaceful" place and if you win, choose your own prize worth $100USD. Contest closes New Years Eve.
- Bridges continues to post daily. And it continues to be an amazing resource for insight into a multitude of worlds. And I'm not just saying that because I work on it.
- If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!

We need to all pay very close attention to what is going on in Arkansas. Email news organizations...post it on your blog...let's do whatever it takes to keep this from happening. If this happens in Arkansas...who's next? It could also make it harder for us who are fighting for mandated coverage in our states!
Thank you Courtney. Thank you Mel. Thank you IF community. So far, I am the only resident going crazy over this. (as far as I can tell..) Lil 'ole me has learned a lot from your comments and insight. I'll be going all the way to the capital with this one; I am wiser and more prepared b/c of you. I want to echo what Courtney said, If they take this away from Arkansans, the rest of the US is THAT MUCH FARTHER away from seeing IVF coverage. The repeal WILL happen if there is no opposition. When I learn who is on the bill committee, I will need some help really pouncing.
