804th Issue of the LFCA

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The point of Lost and Found is to level the support playing field. When LFCA works correctly, the newest blogger with the smallest readership can receive the same level of support as the oldest blogger with the largest readership. Anyone can submit news to LFCA by clicking here.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the
infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS
New

  • IComLeavWe: February's IComLeavWe kicks off at the end of the week.  Last chance to sign up and join along.
  • Free Download: Darja writes, "Darja's e-book: Improving Egg Quality: The Smart Way to Get Pregnant will be a FREE download at Amazon on 20th and 21st February 2014. No need to own a Kindle device, the e-book can be easily read on PC. The book presents TONS of research (some as recent as 2013) and was reviewed by some of the leading scientists in the field. What is the most optimal diet to support egg health? Which supplements, how and why? How to find out how many eggs you have left? What is it, that women don't ask and doctors don't tell? Women over 35, women with low ovarian reserve, or fertility patients who are interested in improving their egg health should really not miss it."
  • Study: Darja writes, "One interesing clinical trial completed at the Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, Ontario. A cohort of 173 women undergoing IVF were tested for vitamin D levels one week prior to oocyte retrieval. Of the included women, 54.9% had insufficient vitamin D levels. Those with sufficient levels of vitamin D were significantly more likely to achieve clinical pregnancy following IVF. Authors conclude that vitamin D plays a role in human reproduction and that a vitamin D supplementation could provide an easy and cost-effective way of improving pregnancy rates. • We want to make a mini me: how hard can it be? writes, "A year ago today I was one day post embryo transfer - we had a grade 5AA blasto. Our mini-me didn't stick. We had an FET cycle after that - that also didn't work and we lost all of our frosties. I live in the UK so our first two rounds were funded on the NHS - we were lucky to have not had the expense. Anyway - almost a year since my heart broke properly for the first time in my life I'm blogging again, we have saved enough to go again and we have our consultation at The Lister hospital in London and we starting again. A year since my heart broke but you guys got me through - I may not comment on your blogs but thank you for getting me through the worst year of my life. Onwards and upward x."

  • Mrs Spock (pwp) gave birth to her surprise bonus baby, Cordelia, on 1/17/14. This marks the end of family building for the Spock family.
  • Tireegal gave birth to her second child, a boy, via DE/DS on 1/23/14 one day after her 46th birthday. It was a pregnancy filled with uncertainty and stress. Baby and mama are healthy and recovering well. Now she and her partner are trying to navigate the waters of integrating the baby into their family and helping their first child to adjust. It has been a rocky start. Please send happy peaceful thoughts their way as they tread uncharted, cliche filled territories.

Thanks Mel. I went to Amazon to download Darja's book but it didn't show up as free. Is there a promo code or some sort of secret to taking advantage of her generosity?
