334th Issue of the LFCA

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The point to Lost and Found is to level the support playing field. When LFCA works correctly, the newest blogger with the smallest readership can receive the same level of support as the oldest blogger with the largest readership. Anyone can submit news to LFCA by clicking here.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the
infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS
New
  • Kirtsy'd Pick O' the Day: No Kirtsy'd post today because Kirtsy is down.
  • Spotty Internet: My Internet has been on and off for the past three days. If you email and don't get an answer, it just means that I can't check email. Or that I'm really far behind and cursing my Internet provider.
  • Internet Radio Show Today: I'm going to be on a blog radio show today and you can submit questions beforehand or call-in during the show. It's called Creating a Family and it runs from noon until 1 (EST). You can send questions to dawn at creatingafamily.com (obviously change the "at" to a "@") and listen to the show at noon. It will also be housed on that space after the show or downloadable from iTunes. Here is a chance to ask all your burning questions: what is the future fate of the turkey cutlet, how did I learn to rock the Irish Penny Whistle, or what did I end up doing with all of the empty Follistim vials I collected for an art project?
  • Internet Baby Shower: Jen is throwing an Internet baby shower for Cali and the Snork. Since the Snork is the result of our very first UTERUS fundraiser, this is a chance for the whole Internet to celebrate his existence. Come participate by sending love on Monday, March 9th.
  • Activism: Please stop by Conceive This! for some information about some heavy-duty proposed ART legislation in Georgia. If you are a Georgian, a link is provided to send a letter to members of the Health and Human Services Committee to oppose these bills.
  • Good News: Managing The Sweetness Within has announced her book deal! Drop by to congratulate her or if you have diabetes leave your details so you can help and be a part of her book.
  • Question: Frenchie says: "I have just been diagnosed with Anti-thyroid antibodies: either Graves disease or Hashimotos. I am asking anyone who has information and experience with this problem to please reach out as Dr. Google is making me crazy."
  • Question: Sushilover is mulling over whether or not to begin her maternity leave two weeks prior to her twins birth. Please stop over if you have any experience with a multiple pregnancy and this issue.
Old
  • Project: New IComLeavWe list went up this morning with a new way to do sign-up. It will enable me to send out a reminder email on the 20th as well as a "remove the icon from your blog" reminder on the 28th.
  • Password-Protected: Christina has made the decision to go private with her blog. She has left instructions on a post at her blog for those who would like to continue to follow her story.
  • Activism: Cara at Share Southern Vermont has a post up about new legislation through First Candle in Washington DC. Click over and read the symposium. As written it only includes SIUD and sudden older child death (up to 4 years). They say, a "sister" bill regarding stillbirth will be written.
  • Submissions: Exhale: A Literary Magazine is now seeking your infertility-and-pregnancy/infant-loss-related essays, poetry, art, and photography submissions for the second Artistic Exhalation (ArtEx) Award. Deadline is Friday, April 10th, 2009. The theme of this award is Turning Points. For information, go to www.exhalezine.com and click "ArtEx" award, or e-mail Monica LeMoine, Editor, at monica@exhalezine.com.
  • Vote: Chasing a Child is up for an award for best "mommyblogger" from Scholastic. She's one of ten finalists. You can vote for her here: http://www.scholastic.com/parents/blogcontest/. This post will be up until March 13th because you can keep voting until March 13th.
  • Creme de la Creme: The Creme de la Creme list was posted. I continue to add to it daily and update the date/time link on the right sidebar whenever there has been a change.
  • If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!
