598th Issue of the LFCA

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The point of Lost and Found is to level the support playing field. When LFCA works correctly, the newest blogger with the smallest readership can receive the same level of support as the oldest blogger with the largest readership. Anyone can submit news to LFCA by clicking here.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the
infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

Connections Abound

  • BlogHer or New York Area: If you're going to be at the BlogHer conference this summer or you live in the New York-ish area (or are willing to go there on August 8th), add yourself to the list.
  • Opportunity: MeAndBaby writes: "A fertility center in my area is giving away free IVF cycles! The CNY Fertility Center has implemented a monthly giveaway for the next 6 months where they will give away 1 IVF cycle and an additional support item. Check out this site for more information.
  • Resource: It's Men's Health Week and June is Men's Health Month. Check out the male-factor infertility resources recently posted at Hannah Wept, Sarah Laughed.
  • Advice: Apron Strings for Emily wants to know if there are any other bloggers out there even considering a child-free life after infertility. It seems as if this topic is a "taboo" topic amongst the already "taboo topic" of infertility. It would be nice to know what other support is out there.
  • Advice: Mrs. Lemon really needs the wisdom available from this site. She is reconsidering her RE and is willing to travel for a good one.
  • Blog Move: Update your links! Jen from Here We Go Again has moved her blog to her very own shiny URL. And if you don't already read Jen, you should because she is awesome.
  • First Time Reading the LFCA: If this is your first time reading the LFCA or you need a refresher about how the LFCA works, please read this post. It has everything you need to know about getting your news in the LFCA.
  • Quicklink Resources: Regular ALI Blogroll: If you would like your blog added to the ALI blogroll, please email me directly with your blog url and category pick. More information about being added is contained in that link. Password-Protected Blogroll: If you would like your password-protected blog added to the blogroll, please fill out the form.

  • Mayhem and Magic celebrated her 11th anniversary on Saturday!
LOSS REMEMBRANCES (send in the dates of loss anniversaries and I will post them on the correct day)
  • Michele and her family are remembering her brother-in-law, Robert, who died from neuroblastoma at the age of 7 (when her husband was 9). Today, he would have turned 30. Please take a moment to leave a thought; they will be shared with her in-laws.
  • Tears are for Babies was remembering her baby Pearl on the unfulfilled due date last Monday. Please give her love.
  • The Long and Winding Road has returned from a brief hiatus on her blog with sad news: she's experienced an early loss of at least one twin. She'll have more information on Friday when she goes for more follow up work; the support would mean so much to her right now.
  • Please support Devonmarie who lost her father last Friday.
  • After three years of treatments and moving on to donor egg, R's recent BFP has turned into a loss.
  • Glass Case of Emotion's beta has risen, but only slightly, most likely resulting in an ectopic. She is currently weighing her options on how to medically deal with this loss and could use some support right now.
  • A friend of a friend has lost her baby boy at 33 weeks. She herself does not have a blog, but Sue has set up a post for those who may want to express condolences or suggest support resources.
  • Kristi had her final US at 9 weeks 5 days. She was diagnosed with a missed miscarriage with the D&C scheduled for Monday, June 28.
  • Krystal learned that her baby stopped growing at 7w5d and does not have a heartbeat. Please stop by and give her some love.
  • Trying Not to Scream miscarried at the end of last week, 11 weeks into this pregnancy. Please give her a lot of support.
MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT AND CELEBRATIONS (scary scans, anxious waits, OHSS, and a host of other reasons why these bloggers could use some additional support right now. Also, celebratory retrievals, transfers, and other good news)
  • Michele just ran her first 5K! As she trains for her first triathlon in August- when the twins are just 11 months old- drop by and share a shoutout or success story.
  • Love Reign Over Me has been contacted by the Minister for Mental Health and Water asking to meet with her about To Write Their Names in the Sand. She's asking for testimonials. If Carly's helped you, please go help her by writing her a testimonial.
  • Bionic Mamas are having their first egg retrieval Saturday and would appreciate any "my ER wasn't that big a deal" stories you may have to share.
  • Betty's first (and potentially only) IVF was not successful -- AF has started, but the RE is insisting that she have a beta drawn on Friday "just in case". After some negative HPTs and AF starting, she's not looking forward to the added disappointment of experiencing a negative beta. She could use some hugs right now.
  • Bon has experienced a significant delay in their international adoption and will not be bringing home baby Story until at least August now.
  • Barefoot's little Chicklette has been christened. Go wish the family congratulations!
  • Lisa & Adam are dealing with yet another, particularly difficult "no" in their adoption process. Head over and lend some support.
  • Adele's last scan was discouraging and can use some extra support.
  • After a rough start to IVF #1 with complications from severe endometriosis, Erica is thrilled to have 6 frozen embryos ready for transfer in a couple of months!
  • Suraita's job is relocating and there's a lot of uncertainty over this at home and at work. She could use any support you have to give.
  • April has gone back to the place where her first son was "made." Is having a little bit of a rough time having hope.
  • Amaprincess needs our love. She's having a tough time post birthday.
  • Billy is having some difficulty with breastfeeding and could use some positive support.
  • Built in Birth Control had her FET. Please go keep her company during the wait until beta.
  • Emmy has her transfer this week. Go give her good thoughts.
  • Just Keep Swimming could use support as she goes into her first IVF cycle.
  • Musings of a Hormonal Egg Basket had her transfer last week. Go keep her company in the wait until beta.
  • Keiko is an aunt--please give her congratulations and support.
  • LowFatLady LowFatLady looked fear in the face and got through her sono after putting it off for a very long time.
BEDREST BABES: on bedrest following infertility or loss and needing support. Drop in on them and keep them company.
  • Romancing the Stone is on bedrest at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, after her IVF baby decided to make his presence known at the Home Depot! She's been in the hospital for three weeks, with four more to go. Baby and Momma are doing great, but they will deliver him early, and he will stay in the NICU for 1-2 months.
  • Potty Mouth Mommy made it to the 28 week milestone! Still having contractions but holding strong while on bed rest with no cervical changes!
  • Little Footprints has made it to 30 weeks! Her cerclage is still holding tight, but she remains on bedrest. Stop by and keep her company while she waits for the safe arrival of Baby A.!
  • Adventures of Student RN Tiffany has made it to 26 weeks and after a week filled with a car accident (on the way to the doctors) and variable decelarations of Baby Nolan's Heart rate, she is hoping that next week is filled with uneventful bedrest days.
  • Project Progeny is on bedrest, but doing better. Please go keep her company.
  • Noelle is in the hospital until the doctors feel it's safe to deliver B. She's terrified and could use any good thoughts or prayers you have. She's 28 weeks and dealing with severe IUGR, loss of cord blood flow, marginal cord insertion and placenta previa. The doctors are holding off hoping B can have a little more time inside.
  • Not the Path I Chose is on modified bedrest at home, although her blood pressure has been creeping up recently. She could use a visit while the twins keep baking!
  • Just What I Always Wanted has a very faint second line! Go congratulate her while she waits for her beta.
  • Finding ME after IF just found out that that she is pregnant, and saw her baby for the first time on ultrasound after her doctors had thought she was having another ectopic pregnancy. Go on over to her blog and send her a huge congratulations.
  • Getting It Off My Mind is newly pregnant!
  • The word is out: it's triplets for Jenny!
  • Our Journey is 15 weeks pregnant!
  • Long Distance Infertility is pregnant! Go wish her congratulations.

  • Nikki and her husband welcomed their daughter, Maya, into the world! She is baby sister to Nadine, and to Alyssa and David in heaven.
  • A Run for My Money gave birth to Lincoln! Go over and wish her congratulations.
