MISCELLANEOUS NEWS
New
  • This upcoming Thursday (Nov 1) is Bea's Girls Night In: "on Thursday, November 1st, we're having a Girl-Blogger's Night In. Pour a relaxing bath, open a bottle of wine, get your favourite snacks and DVD together, bring a friend and do a facial, or just take the night off to read in bed. Blog about your evening and send me a link to the post. Then donate**, at the cancer council's website, the amount of money you would have spent on a night out. Let's make the fiftieth good deed one for the girls!"
  • Kristen writes: "I see that Wishing It Would Get Easier has gone PWP. I would love to be invited so I could catch up with her."
  • I may have wasted a lot of time this afternoon over here. But it's all Rebecca's fault from Clumsy Kisses. Her giveaway opened up an entire world of giveaways. Go win free things.
Old
  • Leave a wish. Support a wish.
  • A sad update from Mary: "the number went up, but only by 10 points (that's 36 if you are keeping track). Not close to doubling. Staying on the meds and retesting on Tuesday, mostly as a formality. Unless there is a miracle, not much chance here. See, I knew G-d didn't really like us that much. Sad (again.) Would have been easier if we hadn't gotten that double to get our hopes up." Please leave Mary messages of support on this post. I'll make sure she gets them.
  • From Here to Maternity has moved and gone somewhat password-protected. Schooch on over to her new Wordpress digs and email her at noangel139@hotmail.com.
  • Dramlish seconds the return of Smarshy: "I logged on with just the purpose of asking about Smarshy. I hope someone knows what's become of him. He's written some stuff that made me almost pee my pants from laughing so loud."
  • The Secret Garden has moved. You can now read it here.

  • Farah at Fertilize Me has her first post-BFP doctor's appointment on Wednesday and could use some positive thoughts!
  • Kir from Kir's Corner needs your support and good wishes! Last weekend, she went into preterm labour. They have gotten it under control with meds and monitoring, but it's still very scary because the twins are only 24 weeks along. She is trying to keep them in for another 6--8 weeks. Please send prayers and good thoughts to Kir and the twins.

I just found out my second cycle of IVF (9 eggs retrieved) is rather doomed. One egg fertilized. I am 36 and a low responder. Live in NYC and can't seem to get outta this funk. How can we afford another round? How come this isn't working? I am angry at the situation, my body and not feeling like there is hope. I have never felt this combination prior. Anyone else?

Sulawishes ~ I'm so sorry your cycle is doomed. I've never done IVF, but I've had a doomed cycle and I know how frustrating it is. Hang in there.

Mary ~ I wanna kick that beta's ass for you, getting your hopes up with the doubling and then crapping out like that. I'm so sorry.
