Wednesday's Connections Abound

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The Face-to-Face Lost and Found page is permanently located beneath this current post. Old Connections Abound can be accessed via the date or subject archives listed on the sidebar. Check the submissions page, FAQ, and ways to get involved for additional information. Email me at thetowncriers@gmail.com with any questions/concerns.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the
infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

Connections Abound

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS
New
  • Sorry for the lack of Connections Abound yesterday--another trip to the doctor's office and a strong need to decompress by putting post-it notes all over cookbook recipes.
  • Fundraising: This is the last week to contribute to the March of Dimes by making a donation to Team of the Road. Altogether, the three participating teams have raised $3416. The walk was this past weekend for In Search of Biscuit 2.0, but the other two remaining walkers (Stirrup Queens and My Perky Ovaries) are walking this weekend! You can still make a donation!
  • U.T.E.R.U.S. update: We now have around $2200 (um...have I mentioned that men talk and women get the job done?). We are $800 away from that goal. We still have ideas up our sleeves and we will see this to the end. But we could use your ideas and enthusiasm. We have started a listserv for U.T.E.R.U.S. Click here to join U.T.E.R.U.S. and get on the email list. We will be taking our brainstorming session to the listserv soon so sign up now. This is the same listserv we will use for all future brainstorming sessions when we do this again to help the next blogger.
  • Two Florida face-to-face groups are merging (Tampa and Orlando). If you want to go to the next get together, Jen has a post currently up about the next meeting.
  • Question: JJ from Reproductive Jeans wants people to weigh in with their thoughts on PIO vs. suppositories. Head over there and give your thoughts.
  • Question: Perchance to Dream is asking for fresh eyes on an old problem--funding fertility treatments. Please go over to her blog and give your thoughts.
  • Question: Amy is asking a question for a friend about continuing Met during pregnancy. Go over if you can answer it.
Old
  • If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!
NEW BLOGS (started in March or April 2008)
BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES (celebrate your birthday or blogoversary with the community. Send me date at any point and I'll post them on the correct day)
  • Today is Tara's birthday at Money Makes the Sperm Go Around. Her blog is private, but you can leave her a birthday wish here.
LOSS REMEMBRANCES (send in the dates of loss anniversaries and I will post them on the correct day)
  • Kathy has posted Molly's burial story. Please go give the family support.
  • It is the 9 month anniversary of the loss of Owen. Please go give Ashleigh support.
LOSS ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • S's Grandmother died on Monday. Please go give Caro and S good thoughts.
  • Finslippy is currently experiencing a loss. Please go over and give her support.
MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT AND CELEBRATIONS (scary scans, anxious waits, OHSS, and a host of other reasons why these bloggers could use some additional support right now. Also, celebratory retrievals, transfers, and other good news)
  • Baby Steps to Baby Shoes has been having gastric pain. The most likely culprit is gallstones. Go give her a hug.
  • Begging for a Baby had an ER visit after having cramping and bleeding. The ER ultrasound yielded a healthy baby and an empty sac. She lost Piglet's twin, though she hadn't known that she was carrying twins since it is before the first ultrasound. Go over and give her a hug too.
  • AMS received a final answer about Zoë's cause of death. It was extreme prematurity. Please go give her support as she closes this door.
  • Julia at I Won't Fear Love could use some kind words to keep in mind as she goes into a meeting tomorrow with the president of the cemetery where her son is buried.
  • Mrs. Spit has a job interview on Friday. Go wish her luck.
  • Mr. Spit is not in a great emotional space right now. Please go give him support.
  • Brooke received bad news in the afternoon, undoing the good news from the morning on when she could begin IVF. Please give her support.
  • Spicy Sister has had some post transfer difficulties--pain and stomach issues. Please go over and keep her company as she gets better.
  • Waiting for My Miracle Twins had a beta of 2 after this last IVF cycle. She could use some support.
  • M's surgery went well at Down that Dirt Road.
BEDREST BABES: on bedrest following infertility or loss and needing support. Drop in on them and keep them company.
  • Elizabeth from The I Word is in the hospital and on bedrest with mild preeclampsia. Go over and keep her company.
  • Leah at Tales from My Dusty Ovaries is officially on bedrest.
  • Tracy is on modified bedrest and will probably remain like this for the remainder of the pregnancy.
  • Schatzi is on "increased rest" and will most likely be on bedrest for a large portion of her pregnancy.
  • When All Else Fails... is on bedrest due to a shortened cervix.
  • Geohde is on increased rest too as she keeps in the twins to 32 weeks.
PREGNANCY ANNOUNCEMENTS AND NEWS
  • A Baby? Maybe... is pregnant!
  • Brenda at LifeCanBeShit is having a girl (named Georgia Mae)! Her recent posts have been password protected not to remain private, but to be sensitive to readers who don't wish to read pregnancy news. If you want to read those posts, type in "sunshine."
  • Jen had a great ultrasound and everything is measuring on target.
  • My Bumpy Path saw a heartbeat.
  • Miss Conception has an ultrasound on Friday. She is nervous--please go over and give her support.
  • Rian had a good ultrasound, though amniotic fluid is a little low and they're monitoring that. Go give her a hug.
BIRTH AND ADOPTION ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • None Today.

I think Caro must be having her baby - she hasn't been on googlechat this week that I've seen, and she usually is. I think I last saw her on Monday. I hope we get news soon!
