Monday's Connections Abound

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The Face-to-Face Lost and Found page is permanently located beneath this current post. Old Connections Abound can be accessed via the date or subject archives listed on the sidebar. Check the submissions page, FAQ, and ways to get involved for additional information. Email me at with any questions/concerns.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

Connections Abound

  • I am writing this from the bathroom floor. The twins are napping and I don't want to turn on the lights in the living room. It is really uncomfortable down here. Some of this will be repeated from Friday when I spilled forth everything I had on the calendar for this week, not knowing when I'd have an Internet connection. Some of it is new.
  • Resource: Resolve just put out a free PDF you can print on progesterone information. "RESOLVE has developed a brochure which provides information on progesterone and its effect on the pregnancy cycle. In addition, the brochure discusses various methods of administration of progesterone."
  • Fundraiser: posting this for Hailey Kent's parents who conceived her via a surrogate. Please read and contribute to their fund. They are also asking people to watch this youtube video and rate it a 5.
  • Questions: There Must Be More Than Being Fond of Grief has questions about Repronex. Please head over to her blog if you can answer them.
  • Question: "My sister-in-law has had a hellacious pregnancy for various reasons and is about to be induced at around 36 weeks. I think the induction has to do with problems with the mom and the baby is fine. I'm assuming her baby will be in the hospital, possibly NICU, for a bit? I’m wondering if anyone can suggest a thoughtful gift for a mom in this position. I’ve posted this question at my blog and people can comment there with suggestions. Thanks for any advice. Joy." Head over if you can help!
  • Sign-up began for the Roundup Extravaganza (the summer version of the Creme de la Creme). Head over if you want to participate. There are already 100 on the list!
  • If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!
NEW BLOGS (started in May or June 2008)
BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES (celebrate your birthday or blogoversary with the community. Send me date at any point and I'll post them on the correct day)
  • Coming2Term's birthday is next Thursday. Go sing her a little song.
  • Andria and Co.'s anniversary is on Tuesday. Go wish them congratulations.
  • Taking the Statistical Bullet is celebrating her birthday next Wednesday. Go sing her a little song.
  • Next Friday is Flutter of Hope's blogoversary (okay, I know I'm getting ahead here, but I thought I'd dump out the whole calendar and repeat things later). Go wish her congratulations. But even before that, today is her birthday!
  • Almamay's birthday is Tuesday. Her blog is invite-only so you can leave her birthday messages here.
  • Chasing a Child is also having her birthday tomorrow.
LOSS REMEMBRANCES (send in the dates of loss anniversaries and I will post them on the correct day)
  • The Maternal Heart's Essence is adding losses that occurred (during any year) in June.
  • Next week is Luna's unfulfilled due date anniversary. Please go flood her comments box with messages of support that she can read when she returns.
  • Tuesday is the anniversary of Baby Dream's first loss. Please sit with her as she remembers.
  • None Today.
MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT AND CELEBRATIONS (scary scans, anxious waits, OHSS, and a host of other reasons why these bloggers could use some additional support right now. Also, celebratory retrievals, transfers, and other good news)
  • Mel at Where's My Belly? could use lots and lots of hugs. The buyers walked away from the offer on their house this weekend, and her IUI that was supposed to happen, didn't. She's in a bad place.
BEDREST BABES: on bedrest following infertility or loss and needing support. Drop in on them and keep them company.
  • Kami is on modified bedrest for the rest of her pregnancy.
  • Wielecki Twins is on bedrest with high blood pressure.
  • Trying is on bedrest due to gestational hypertension and low amniotic fluid.
  • Tracy is on modified bedrest and will probably remain like this for the remainder of the pregnancy.
  • Schatzi is on "increased rest" and will most likely be on bedrest for a large portion of her pregnancy.
  • When All Else Fails... is on bedrest due to a shortened cervix.
  • Geohde is on increased rest too as she keeps in the twins to 32 weeks.
  • Crowded Uterus Syndrome is on bedrest.
  • The Adventures of Jonny and Flo is on bedrest after an increase in Braxton-Hicks contractions.
  • Milenka is in the hospital on bedrest due to low fluid.
  • My Journey to Mommyhood is on bedrest after she started bleeding. She has an ultrasound this upcoming Thursday.
  • Embryo Motel had a good first u/s showing one sac and a heartbeat of 130!
  • Hope and Despair Mingled Together was chosen by an expectant mother and the baby will soon be on his way! Go wish her and the expectant mother good luck and hold their hearts through this emotional time.
  • Farah is delivering as I write this!!! Go over to Fertilized and wish her good luck with an easy labour. She's a few weeks early, but she was already 4 cm dilated at her doctor's appointment and her water broke.
