MISCELLANEOUS NEWS
New
  • Um...Luna pointed out yesterday that I didn't announce my own new blog on Lost and Found. Can we chalk it up to not too bright? There is a new blog called Bridges that is a consortium of awareness bloggers who are using their writing to educate and build empathy. If you would like to join along, there is information on the site about how to get involved from reading with an open heart to publicizing it on your site to joining the awareness blogroll to being a contributing editor (or contributing posts).
  • Update on Mary: for those who are following along at home, Mary's second betas more than doubled. No more appointments until the first ultrasound in two weeks. But hopefully only good news from here on out with this donor embryo cycle. You can leave her good wishes in the comment section and she'll pick them up.
  • New Site: the divine and fabulous Ms. Manda from I Think I Hear Your Mother Calling has set up a forum for infertility bloggers called Desperately Seeking Spawn. It is a fantastic space to ask a question, start a discussion, throw out blog ideas. Go over and join the conversation.
Old
  • If you were an iron commentor for IComLeavWe this month let me know so I can add you to the wall of honour.
  • Request for an Interview: If you fit the bill, email the reporter directly... "I am a correspondent/producer for AARP Broadcast and am working on a similar story for television. The story is about couples who tried unsuccessfully to have children then decided to stop trying and live life without them. I am looking to interview a couple who fits that criteria on camera in the next two weeks. We are based in Washington DC and are looking for someone in this region which includes southern Maryland and northern Virginia. The interview will air in a story that also profiles a couple who decided to never have children. It will air on a program called My Generation which broadcasts nationwide on the RLTV network with a viewership geared towards people 50 years old and above. While it is not a deal breaker, it would be nice if our couple is in this age demographic." Email Diane.
  • If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!

MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT AND CELEBRATIONS (scary scans, anxious waits, OHSS, and a host of other reasons why these bloggers could use some additional support right now. Also, celebratory retrievals, transfers, and other good news)

BEDREST BABES: on bedrest following infertility or loss and needing support. Drop in on them and keep them company.
PREGNANCY ANNOUNCEMENTS AND NEWS
  • Barely Pregnant had great amnio results and she just celebrated her 50th post!
BIRTH AND ADOPTION ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • Kristen at Sticky Bean gave birth to a boy, Nate, on July 26th. Go over to wish her congratulations.
  • In Our Own Weird Way is in China and she has gotten Little Pumpkin. The adjustment is rough on the little girl, who had a wonderful foster family, and on Ms. J, who hates to see her daughter in distress. She has asked for prayers for their little girl--please go over and give her good thoughts.

Mel,
Thank you so much for the update on Mary! You are so amazing and such a great support for so many women and men going through family stuff. Have we told you lately how much we appreciate you?

Mary,
I am so thrilled for you and your success is motivating me right along. We are in the midst of having donor embryos shipped to our clinic and are very excited by your news. Stay strong and be good to yourself.

Divine AND fabulous?! Aw shucks, Mel...

I just hope it serves its intended purpose and brings us together that much more often.
