Monday's Connections Abound

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The Face-to-Face Lost and Found page is permanently located beneath this current post. Old Connections Abound can be accessed via the date or subject archives listed on the sidebar. Check the submissions page, FAQ, and ways to get involved for additional information. Email me at with any questions/concerns.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

Connections Abound

  • The Lost and Found is one-year-old today! Happy blogoversary, little lost and found.
  • Bridges began running its first posts today. Click over to read one of our own: Allison from Our Own Creation.
  • BlogHer Panel Video: if you missed BlogHer and want to see the video, Pamela Jeanne has it up on her blog!
  • IF in TVLand: "In case anyone doesn't catch a replay of Mad Men Season 2 Episode 1 before seeing the next episode, I recapped the IF scene a few days ago on my blog."
  • Idea: Feliz Dianne Flutter has a great idea to read through all of the books on the book meme that is going around. Stop by her blog if you want to join along.
  • Question: Isn't it Pretty to Think So? has a question: "I need to get some information about immunology testing. Natural Killer Cells, Leukocyte antibodies, etc. If you have gone through any of this, please contact me. I am trying to decide if it is the route that I need to go. It is an expensive route, and a controversial one, so I am hesitant."
  • Question: Miss Conception has questions about a donor embryo cycle. Please go over if you can answer them.
  • Question: Dorothy's doctor would like her to have a trans-abdominal cerclage to help keep the triplets in as long as possible. If anyone has any information on the topic, please let her know.
  • Question: Natalie asks: "I'm looking to connect with anyone who has run into egg immaturity issues while doing IVF. Apparently it's not very common and the doctor has no clue what to do in regards to treatment, other than doing the same thing we did before and "hope" we get an embryo out of it. There has to be more people who have dealt with this in IF blogland. I'm just desperate to talk to someone who has the same problem... maybe learn a little...."
  • The IComLeavWe list for August is up. Join in the conversation--it's a week of increased comments and commenting (and hopefully picking up a few new permanent readers along the way). If you still have up the old icon for July, please take it down (the red one).
  • If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!
NEW BLOGS (started in July or August 2008)
BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES (celebrate your birthday or blogoversary with the community. Send me date at any point and I'll post them on the correct day)
  • The Lost and Found (yes, this Lost and Found) is celebrating its anniversary today. Happy one-year birthday, little LFCA.
  • Dana's birthday was on Saturday. Go wish her happy birthday!
  • The Idle Mind of Beth had her blogoversary on Friday. Go wish her congratulations!
  • Just Me celebrated her 33rd birthday on Saturday. Go sing her a little diddy. She'd love it!
  • Waiting in Line celebrated her birthday last Thursday. It's not too late to sing her a little song.
  • Life After D&C is celebrating her anniversary on Wednesday. Go wish her congratulations.
LOSS REMEMBRANCES (send in the dates of loss anniversaries and I will post them on the correct day)
  • Tomorrow is the anniversary of the day that Loribeth learned that Katie had no heartbeat. Please go over and sit with her between the 5th and the 7th as she remembers these two terrible anniversaries 10 years later.
MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT AND CELEBRATIONS (scary scans, anxious waits, OHSS, and a host of other reasons why these bloggers could use some additional support right now. Also, celebratory retrievals, transfers, and other good news)
  • Diary of an Infertile Mad Woman received scary news during a routine scan to start her IVF cycle. She is going in on the 6th to see if the growth in her uterus is a tumour. Please go flood her with support.
  • JJ is bleeding but a trip to the ER showed everything was still okay with the pregnancy. She is still on bedrest but could use some good thoughts.
  • Andie at The Conceivable Future has been on an emotional roller coaster with this cycle. Please go over and give her a hug.
  • Sluggish Butterfly is having an IUI tomorrow.
  • Egged Out is in the 2ww from her donor egg cycle. She is worried because no embryos made it to freeze and she doesn’t have the financial means to do another donor cycle. Please go over and give her support.
  • Rho at Nobaby Lane had her egg retrieval on Saturday. Congratulate her on the 15 eggs and wait with her as they decide when to do the transfer.
  • Whataboutmyeggs had a BFN. She feels like she will need to move on, but her husband has said that not having children would be his breaking point. She could really use some hugs.
  • Learning to Breathe's daughter is having feeding issues due to tracheomalacia and severe reflux. She has now been hospitalized for dehydration. She could use some support right now.
  • Bleu is in the wait after transfer. Go over and wish her good luck!
  • Infertile, Who Me? started IVF #4. Go wish her good luck.
BEDREST BABES: on bedrest following infertility or loss and needing support. Drop in on them and keep them company.
  • Julie had a boy on August 1st. Go over and wish her congratulations.
  • Scarred Bellybutton had a boy, Callum, on August 1st. Go over and wish her congratulations.
  • Life's Lost and Found had a boy, Isaac, on August 1st. Go over and wish her congratulations.
  • Whitney gave birth to her twin girls, Bekah and Atty, over the weekend. Go wish her congratulations.
