Monday's Connections Abound

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The Face-to-Face Lost and Found page is permanently located beneath this current post. Old Connections Abound can be accessed via the date or subject archives listed on the sidebar. Check the submissions page, FAQ, and ways to get involved for additional information. Email me at with any questions/concerns.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

Connections Abound

  • I'm going to suck on the email and LFCA for one more week. I'm in the home stretch of finishing the book. I am experimenting with posting the LFCA in the morning rather than the afternoon. We'll see. I'm not so sure about it.
  • IComLeavWe trucks along--4 more days of mindful commenting.
  • Bridges continues to post daily. And it continues to be an amazing resource for insight into a multitude of worlds. And I'm not just saying that because I work on it.
  • I have 33 posts currently for the first 100 Words project. Please click over to read and participate. The entries thus far have been incredible. My goal is to have a minimum of 48 so I can run a post every half hour. They are some of the most moving pieces of writing I've read all month.
  • Get Fed: At least on chocolate. Lori and Chicklet are doing a giveaway for free M&Ms. Seriously, it's a comment for chocolate, how can you not enter? Running this through the 25th until the contest is over. Just because I feel that way about M&Ms.
  • If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!
NEW BLOGS (started in July or August 2008)
BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES (celebrate your birthday or blogoversary with the community. Send me date at any point and I'll post them on the correct day)
  • None Today.
LOSS REMEMBRANCES (send in the dates of loss anniversaries and I will post them on the correct day)
  • Last Thursday, Niki was remembering Myles who would have been 7 months old.
  • None Today.
MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT AND CELEBRATIONS (scary scans, anxious waits, OHSS, and a host of other reasons why these bloggers could use some additional support right now. Also, celebratory retrievals, transfers, and other good news)
  • My World currently has up a post about her best friend who is awaiting amnio results after receiving a 1 in 4 chance of Trisomy 18 from her AFP test. Please go over to her blog and leave her friend good thoughts.
  • From Here to Maternity had her transfer this weekend. Please go over and sit with her during the wait.
  • Baby Steps got the all-clear for this donor cycle and it's full steam ahead.
  • LisaMarie at Wobbly Bits could use a hug as her kitty, Pounces, passed away this weekend.
  • CLC is six weeks pregnant and has been keeping it a secret. She is asking for support and words of encouragement because she is spotting, which is exactly what happened at six weeks with Hannah.
  • Mrs X had a negative beta and her grandfather has passed away. She could really use some support right now.
  • Cali missed her sonogram due to Hurricane Fay. She is waiting to have it rescheduled. Go give her support.
  • Samantha could use a few hugs right now as she adjusts to life in a new place. She is feeling homesick and a bit overwhelmed. Go give her some love.
  • Res Cogitatae is now in the 2ww after her IUI.
  • Please go give support at Fertile Hope as her son recovers from surgery.
  • Deb at All Things Deb is having a when it rains it pours kind of week. Please go give her a hug.

  • Begging for a Baby had a preterm labour scare last week. Go give her support.
  • An update: Eden’s platelet count has gone up and she gets to come home! She also has a ventricular septal defect in her heart, but hopefully it will resolve on its own and she won’t need surgery.
  • Lisa could use some love.
  • Natalie has just found out that her employer’s insurance plan covers infertility including IVF/GIFT/ZIFT with no limits! Woohoo!
  • Jodie is anticipating possible problems with her donor. Support would be appreciated.
  • Leslee is facing a possible third IF diagnosis; PCOS (she’s already battling endometriosis, and azoospermia). She’s in a bad place right now and could use some hugs.
  • DCat is preparing to start her dIVF cycle. Wish her luck!
  • Dramalish is in the 2ww after her latest dIUI, and is suffering from OHSS. A get-well soon, plus some positive vibes for positive pee sticks would be highly appreciated.
  • No Swimmers received a probable cause for the loss of her girls; Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome. She’s also going through some in-law drama and could use a hug or two.
BEDREST BABES: on bedrest following infertility or loss and needing support. Drop in on them and keep them company.
  • Ten Times Crazier is in the hospital on bedrest for contractions and her cervix is dilating. She will be in the hospital until 34 weeks or until the twins come.
  • BabyQuest is in the hospital on bedrest (more likely until she delivers Bub). Brenda thinks she is 24 weeks now and will be starting steroids soon. They are waiting for a bed to open up at a hospital with a better NICU and then she will be moved. But she is in the hospital for the duration.
