Friday's Connections Abound

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The Face-to-Face Lost and Found page is permanently located beneath this current post. Old Connections Abound can be accessed via the date or subject archives listed on the sidebar. Check the submissions page, FAQ, and ways to get involved for additional information. Email me at with any questions/concerns.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

Connections Abound

  • The LFCA post disappeared yesterday. As in, the template was there, but the information that I had cut-and-paste into the template was missing. Strange. Unfortunately, some of the updates can't be recreated because the email was deleted. I apologize to anyone who sent something and it didn't make it in. If it isn't time sensitive and you want to resend, I can get it in the Monday LFCA.
  • The new 100 Words Project is up on the Bridges site. The theme for October is Love. Please participate--the one for September 11th was amazing.
  • IComLeavWe list is up for September. Join the comment-loving-athon.
  • Bridges continues to post daily. And it continues to be an amazing resource for insight into a multitude of worlds. And I'm not just saying that because I work on it.
  • Florida Bloggers Meeting: "We are planning another Florida bloggers meeting for the first half of October. There’s no post up yet because we are still in the emailing stage of trying to figure out what works for everyone. Any bloggers within driving distance of Orlando/Tampa are invited. If they aren’t already in the loop and receiving emails, they should email me at"
  • Question: Saucy Ova has a question about IUIs. Go over and answer it if you can.
  • Question: My Open Book has a question about sarcoidosis. Please head over if you can give her advice on what to do.
  • If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!
NEW BLOGS (started in August or September 2008)
BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES (celebrate your birthday or blogoversary with the community. Send me date at any point and I'll post them on the correct day)
  • Rebecca at A View On My Life had her blogoversary this past Monday. She has been blogging for 2 years.
LOSS REMEMBRANCES (send in the dates of loss anniversaries and I will post them on the correct day)
  • Today is the anniversary of Expecting a Miracle D&C. Please go give her a hug.
  • Today is the anniversary of Tina's first loss in 2004. Please go over and give her a hug.
  • On Saturday, Julia S will be remembering Hannah, who was lost in 1995.
  • Yesterday was the birthday of the Turtle and the Monkey. The Monkey turned two years old, and his parents were also remembering the Turtle, Noah, who died at three months. Please go over and give her a lot of support.
  • Beth lost a close friend this week and could use all of our love and support. Go give her a hug.
MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT AND CELEBRATIONS (scary scans, anxious waits, OHSS, and a host of other reasons why these bloggers could use some additional support right now. Also, celebratory retrievals, transfers, and other good news)
  • Julia came through her hysterectomy well. Go wish her a speedy recovery.
  • MerrieB's power has been out for more than four days with Hurricane Ike, so they have to put baby making on hold. Go give her a hug.
  • Mil & Moosk are struggling with the fact that Mil's mom isn't here to spoil her and comfort her through her pregnancy. Please drop by and let her know you are thinking of her.
  • Sharon had a great visit with the doctor and received some awesome news. Go congratulate her.
  • Henry Street could use a hug and some kind words right now.
  • Io's mum does not have cancer. Go have a sigh of relief with her.
  • STE could use a hug and some abiding.
  • Birds and Squirrels could use some support right now.
  • Mrs. Spit has quit smoking. Go cheer her on!
  • AMS has a storm cloud following her around and she needs some good distractions [beyond the rock I sent you!].
  • In Ancient Starlight had a great retrieval--7 fertilized. Go wish her good luck with the transfer and wait.
BEDREST BABES: on bedrest following infertility or loss and needing support. Drop in on them and keep them company.
  • Ten Times Crazier is in the hospital on bedrest for contractions and her cervix is dilating. She will be in the hospital until 34 weeks or until the twins come.
  • Gas Passer is on bedrest for the rest of her pregnancy.
  • A Uterus Divided is on hospital bedrest.

I want to tell you that I spent a few minutes looking at all your blogs and I am again in awe of the humility you have. In your own healing, you have created a place for healing for many, many more. The compassion and grace you show is beautiful. Thank you for talking your time and your pain and creating something amazing.
