Tuesday's Connections Abound

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The point to Lost and Found is to level the support playing field. When LFCA works correctly, the newest blogger with the smallest readership can receive the same level of support as the oldest blogger with the largest readership. Anyone can submit news to LFCA by clicking here.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

Connections Abound

  • I'm still pouring drinks at the Virtual Lushary.
  • Question: Dora has a question for the masses: "Questions for those of you who considered donating your extra frozen embryos (whether you actually had extra or not): Would you have considered donating to a single woman? Why, or why not? What kind of information would you want from her?" The donor that she had previously connected with looks like she will be backing out or looking elsewhere. She could use some support.
  • Connection: from Where to go from here... writes: "looking for anyone in the Tulsa, OK area to help support another mom who has lost her child to stillbirth. Looking for support groups that are appropriate or another mother willing to do a face to face hook up. Please let me know!" Contact her via her blog.
  • Giveaway: Write Black is giving away a copy of the infertility book, The Untelling, by Tayari Jones. Go over to win it.
  • More Books: New books listed up on The Batty Book Exchange. Go see if you want to trade.
  • Barren Bitches (and Man-Pie) Book Brigade is reading Harriet the Spy. Join along.
  • Um...hello...did you check out the new stuff happening with U.T.E.R.U.S.?
  • Bridges continues to post daily. And it continues to be an amazing resource for insight into a multitude of worlds. And I'm not just saying that because I work on it.
  • If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!
NEW BLOGS (started in September or October 2008)
BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES (celebrate your birthday or blogoversary with the community. Send me date at any point and I'll post them on the correct day)
  • Yesterday was Emilie's husband Steve's birthday- and they had to spent it going between the doctor's office and hospital for tests. The two of them deserve cake and a song.
  • Mommy to an Angel celebrated her seventh wedding anniversary yesterday. Go wish them congratulations.
LOSS REMEMBRANCES (send in the dates of loss anniversaries and I will post them on the correct day)
  • None Today.
MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT AND CELEBRATIONS (scary scans, anxious waits, OHSS, and a host of other reasons why these bloggers could use some additional support right now. Also, celebratory retrievals, transfers, and other good news)
  • Nity had her egg retrieval on Monday. Go keep her company while she recovers and waits for the transfer.
  • Jill received the results of her embryo's genetic analysis and is scheduled for her FET on Tuesday.
  • G had a horrible hospital experience when she went to the ER for her tubal.
  • Bec had her transfer for FET #2 on Monday. Head over and keep her company as she begins the wait.
  • Dee is pregnant with twins after IVF. She is likely miscarrying one of the babies due to pPROM and the docs are telling her she will soon lose the second even though she has not developed an infection yet. Please go over and give her a lot of support.
  • My Scar Smiles At Me got a negative on her donor egg cycle. Please go give her love.
  • Soulbliss is moving soon. Go wish her good luck.
  • Jess had some good and not-so-good news at her 28-week ultrasound, and she could use some support.
  • Love, Hope and Faith celebrated the finalization of their son Andrew's adoption this weekend.
  • Chell's FET is set for Thursday, as long as there are no unforeseen complications.
  • Sassy's triplets are all home now and she is moving her blog (see "new blogs"), where she will be posting about life as mom to the triplets.
  • The cemetery has confirmed that it was vandals that stole all of the items off of Caden's grave. Please go give Little Miss Hopeful a hug.
BEDREST BABES: on bedrest following infertility or loss and needing support. Drop in on them and keep them company.
  • One baby with a beautiful heartbeat for Life in the Soupbowl.
  • Carrie had an ultrasound and learned that the second embryo did not make it but heard the heartbeat of one healthy baby.
  • Ten Times Crazier was induced yesterday. More details once she posts.
  • A Journey of Hope gave birth to a boy, Spencer, on October 17th. Go wish her congratulations.
  • Salt and Pickles gave birth to her daughter, Zaia, on Saturday October 25th. Go wish her congratulations.
