Tuesday's Connections Abound

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The point to Lost and Found is to level the support playing field. When LFCA works correctly, the newest blogger with the smallest readership can receive the same level of support as the oldest blogger with the largest readership. Anyone can submit news to LFCA by clicking here.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

Connections Abound

  • We won't be voting until the afternoon, but the report from Josh this morning is that the protesters were not out at the polling place. All that dance practice for nothing.
  • Helpful Site: To Write Their Names in the Sand is a children's memorial site. They will write your child's name in the sand and photograph it before the ocean washes it away. They are currently not taking names again until tomorrow (scroll to the bottom of the page).
  • Another place to vote: Please vote for Shauna in this contest. The money will be used to pay for fertility treatments if she wins.
  • Idea: Knocked Up, Knocked Down is thinking of starting a literary magazine "for the TTC/KuKd set, comprised of readers' submitted essays, poetry, columns, and even artwork/photography. There are lot of cool 'zines for so-called normal mommas - but what about the reproductively wacked? I believe that writing is hugely cathartic not just for me, but for others who are at a point in their lives where they need some human connection in this lonely-seeming journey of infertility or knocked-downage. Regardless of what your situation is, you certainly have a unique perspective that others can benefit from." Go over and vote on the title.
  • The new IComLeavWe list opened and there is a way to do it even with Thanksgiving. Come join along and increase the comments on your blog.
  • Harriet the Spy is the current book club selection and everyone is invited to join along.
  • Bridges continues to post daily. And it continues to be an amazing resource for insight into a multitude of worlds. And I'm not just saying that because I work on it.
  • If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!
NEW BLOGS (started in October or November 2008)
BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES (celebrate your birthday or blogoversary with the community. Send me date at any point and I'll post them on the correct day)
  • It was Busted's birthday yesterday. Go over and sing her a little song.
  • It's Sunny's birthday today. Go have some cake with her.
  • Happy Birthday to Baby Smiling In Back Seat. Go join her on her quest for birthday cake.

  • It's Janna and J's 6th wedding anniversary on November 16th. Drop by to congratulate them.
LOSS REMEMBRANCES (send in the dates of loss anniversaries and I will post them on the correct day)
  • Noswimmers is remembering her unfulfilled due date today. She lost Karis and Addison at 19 weeks. This day is going to be very rough for her and she doesn't have a lot of family support other than her husband at this time. Please go over there and give her support.
  • None Today.
MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT AND CELEBRATIONS (scary scans, anxious waits, OHSS, and a host of other reasons why these bloggers could use some additional support right now. Also, celebratory retrievals, transfers, and other good news)
  • Our Own Creation was laid off. Please go over and give her a hug.
  • Nancy had her 250,000th hit on her blog this week. Go wish her congratulations.
  • Ashley just got news that only 2 of her 20 retrieved eggs fertilized in their 4th IVF cycle. They traveled to CCRM and were hoping for different and better results than their local clinic. Ashley and Lee could use words of love and support.
  • Lightning in A Bottle closed on the purchase of her new home on Friday. Celebrate their new beginning with her.
  • Joonie is nervous about the CVS scheduled for Wednesday. Head over and share your insights or just wish her good luck.
  • Jules had her embryo transfer yesterday, but she is a little confused about how the embryos were graded.
  • 8 embryos for Joys in My Life. Transfer is set for Friday.
BEDREST BABES: on bedrest following infertility or loss and needing support. Drop in on them and keep them company.
  • The Duchess had her c-section today. More details to follow.
