Friday's Connections Abound

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The point to Lost and Found is to level the support playing field. When LFCA works correctly, the newest blogger with the smallest readership can receive the same level of support as the oldest blogger with the largest readership. Anyone can submit news to LFCA by clicking here.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS
New
  • Kirtsy'd Pick O' the Day: Please vote for this one from Searching for Biscuit 2.0. It's a post about why infertile women dread the yearly pap smear appointment. A must-read for anyone who thinks before they speak. How do you vote? Simply by clicking on the link above and then clicking on the post's title. Why the Kirtsy'd Pick O' the Day? Click on that link in the header navigation bar above for the story. And send me stuff!
  • 105 people already on the The Creme de la Creme List. Are you?
  • Online shower for Antigone: Head over to Yummy Sushi Pajamas and Awful but Functioning TODAY to participate with online games and festivities.
  • Photo Friday: Photo Friday is back at Creating Motherhood! This week's theme is your early photos with Santa or early holiday photos. Upload the photos onto your own blog and then visit Calliope's blog to leave your url so others can marvel at cute little you.
  • Is it True?: A blogger I completely trust sent this in, though neither of us can vouch for the truthfulness in this. Still, if it is, it's worth passing along: "According to the American Fertility Association, an RE in Southern California, Huntington Reproductive Center, is celebrating their 20th anniversary by giving away 20 free IVF cycles. Again, not sure it's legit, but figured anyone that lives in the area (or is willing and able to travel) should have the opportunity to check it out."
  • Giveaway: There are two giveaways happening at Sticky Feet. The first is for See Kai Run Shoes and the second is for Ambajam Mini-Cuddle.
  • Question: Kim has questions about hydrosalpinx. If you have any info on this condition please go over and offer advice if you are able.
Old
  • I posted the book's cover and website.
  • Triplet Family in Need: this is a local story of a family some of the DC bloggers know, but they are an IF family in need. Please read the story at Chez Perky and help if you can.
  • Important Story to Read: Jaymee sent me the website of a friend who had something very scary happen to her daughter. If you have a small child, please read this. We are sitting down the twins and having a talk this afternoon about putting things in their mouth as well as getting rid of music cards to be on the safe side. Please read it and pass along the information to others who have small children (or, damn, I could imagine idiotic middle schoolers swallowing a battery not knowing what it does inside the body).
  • Giveaway: Alyson is having a give away. Check out her blog for a chance to win a cupcake holder.
  • New IComLeavWe list opened for December (with a caveat about participating over Christmas). Come join along and increase your comments.
  • Bridges continues to post daily. And it continues to be an amazing resource for insight into a multitude of worlds. And I'm not just saying that because I work on it.
  • If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!

Just a note - Gabriel's birthdate and death date is December 10th. I don't think I mentioned it for your records.

thanks so much for thinking of hazel, and especially for passing the word along about the danger of button batteries! i cant tell you how much i appreciate it. it seems as though we are far from the only parents who were ignorant of how dangerous these common little things are. im happy to say that hazel is doing great now, and we are so blessed to have her back home with us. we ave made so many new friends in the blogosphere because of all of this, and for that i am grateful! have a safe and happy holiday season,
amanda, jamie and hazel
