721st Issue of the LFCA

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The point of Lost and Found is to level the support playing field. When LFCA works correctly, the newest blogger with the smallest readership can receive the same level of support as the oldest blogger with the largest readership. Anyone can submit news to LFCA by clicking here.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the
infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS
New
  • Study: Mother, Mother Ocean writes: "Along with being and mom through adoption and waiting on another adoption, I am also an adoption researcher. I am currently working on a study and would love your participation. We are looking for married women waiting to adopt internationally. The study is looking at adjustment to parenthood through adoption. It will follow you at three times (6 weeks before you travel, 6 weeks after you adopt, and 6 months after your adoption date). We are conducting it via mail so you can live anywhere in the world and participate." Please click over to read more, or contact her at nmarti40@kennesaw.edu.
  • Activism: Kerri Mowen has put forth a petition on funding for NIH. She writes, "The NIH budget has been stagnant for the last several years, and the NIH funds about half the research that it did 10 years ago. Progress in all areas of medicine are currently at risk. The House has put forth a budget proposing a 3.3% increase in funding for the NIH. This is a link to a petition to Congress to urge them to support the House-proposed increase for the NIH budget. Please sign and pass it along. NIH funding benefits ALL of us!"
  • Support Group: Loren is planning to start a donor egg support group in Denver, Colorado beginning December 2011. It makes no difference where you are in your process of dealing with this route to parenthood, you are welcome. There are three of us so far!
