787th Issue of the LFCA

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The point of Lost and Found is to level the support playing field. When LFCA works correctly, the newest blogger with the smallest readership can receive the same level of support as the oldest blogger with the largest readership. Anyone can submit news to LFCA by clicking here.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the
infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

Connections Abound

  • Film: First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes baby in the baby carriage. For filmmaker Nina Davenport, the nursery rhyme didn’t go as planned. Still single at age 41, she decides to have a baby on her own–or rather, with the help of her best friend Amy as birth partner and her gay friend Eric as sperm donor. We see how the process of baby making affects each of their lives profoundly and in surprising ways. The documentary taps into the zeitgeist topic of how the modern family is being re-imagined. FIRST COMES LOVE opens at the IFC Center in NYC July 24, and airs on HBO starting July 29.
  • Request for Help: EndoJourney is looking for ideas on how to create a career of helping antepartum patients after her experience with infertility, high risk pregnancy and premature birth.
  • First Time Reading the LFCA: If this is your first time reading the LFCA or you need a refresher about how the LFCA works, please read this post. It has everything you need to know about getting your news in the LFCA.

  • GFree and Happy writes: "I recently interviewed Kelly of Gluten Free Labels about her journey in infertility and miscarriages. After finding out she was allergic to wheat and making some big changes in her life she was able to conceive and even started a business around her struggles. It's a heartwarming story I hope others will feel inspired by."
BEDREST BABES: on bedrest following infertility or loss and needing support. Drop in on them and keep them company. Blurbs running underneath the "new" line are from this week, and the ones above that line will disappear on Sunday. Please do not re-list bedrest blurbs.
