502nd Issue of the LFCA

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The point of Lost and Found is to level the support playing field. When LFCA works correctly, the newest blogger with the smallest readership can receive the same level of support as the oldest blogger with the largest readership. Anyone can submit news to LFCA by clicking here.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the
infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS
New
  • Kirtsy'd Pick O' the Day: Please vote for this one from Fertile Hope. The most amazing and empathetic post I read about Michelle Duggar and the premature birth of her daughter that will change the way you consider the situation. How do you vote? Simply by clicking on the words "this one" above and then clicking on the post's title. Why the Kirtsy'd Pick O' the Day? Click on that link in the header navigation bar above for the story. And send me stuff!
  • Project: Okay, this is it. Tonight is the deadline to be guaranteed a spot on the Creme de la Creme list when it first posts on January 1st. Any submission that comes in after today will go up on the list, but I can't guarantee that it will be there January 1st. It may go up January 2nd or beyond since I will keep adding to the list until March 1. So dig through your 2009 posts and choose your favourite one before midnight (EST) tonight.
  • Question: Kate lives in Southern New Hampshire and is looking for clinics near or in the Boston area that other bloggers have felt good about. Warnings of places to avoid are welcome too. Suggestions can be left in her comments section or at icantwhistle@yahoo.com.
  • Daily Update: There are currently 181 participants on the Creme de la Creme 2009 list.

  • Kirtsy-able Posts: I need stuff to Kirtsy again for next week. Please send in posts (your own or someone else's) from bloggers who have not been Kirtsy'd before or in a very long time.
  • Project: Not that you don’t have plenty of time to get on the Creme de la Creme list (after all, it doesn’t truly close for good until March 1, 2010), but if you want to be guaranteed that you’ll be on the list when it goes up January 1st, you need to have submitted your choice by December 15th. Which is tomorrow. If you fill out the form after December 15th, you will go up as I keep adding to the list, but you probably won’t be up there when the first wave of people start reading on January 1st. So if you’ve been dragging your heels on picking a post, I’d get on it tonight.
  • Project: Open Adoption Examiner is running a book tour on the controversial book, The Primal Wound. Adoptees, firstparents, adoptive and pre-adoptive parents share their views on the concepts presented over 3 days. The author will answer questions later in the week. Come read along for some great insights into the experience of adoption -- even if you've not read the book.
  • Project: Still Life with Circles is starting a new art and poetry blog in January 2010. She is looking for submissions from babylost parents. You can find out more information there.
  • Face-to-Face Group: If you don't know about it yet, there is a new support group up in the Boston/New England area called RubyFeather. Click over if you're in the area and want to learn more.
  • If this is your first time reading the LFCA or you need a refresher about how the LFCA works, please read this post. It has everything you need to know about getting your news in the LFCA.
  • Forums: Join the forums if you'd like additional access to the bulletin boards and other features. Any blog reader or writer can become a member of the forums by clicking here and registering.

I've recently started writing again at my blog - "infertility just sucks."

After 18 cycles and the birth of our daughter we're thinking about two.

I'm angsty, crabby, emotional and want-y for chubby baby thighs.

If anyone wants to read along, I'd be most grateful for her support.

I just figured out that there's an official submission form now.

MEL! You are so awesome!
Oh my, how things have changed since 2006. I feel like a dinosaur now.

Will fill out the form. Thanks for rocking it and providing us with so much support.
