Monday's Connections Abound

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The Lost and Found page is permanently located beneath this current post. Old Connections Abound can be accessed via the date or subject archives listed on the sidebar. Check the submissions page, FAQ, and ways to get involved for additional information. Email me at with any questions/concerns.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

Connections Abound

  • Cyclesista has some very cool tricks up their sleeve. In addition to all the loving support you know and love, Cyclesista is now doing a monthly "lucky dip" prize for one cycling chickie. If you don't know about Cyclesista, you are truly missing out on a whole world of support. Anyone undergoing IUI or IVF can participate. And even if you're not currently cycling, their wall of past cyclesistas can make your heart swell with hope. Go over and check it out.
  • This is specifically for those living in Northern Virginia or the DC Metro Area: "I'm looking to gauge interest in a support group for couples and/or individuals currently experiencing infertility, to be led by an experienced therapist and myself, a fellow-pomegranate-thread-wearer and therapist-in-training. This group will meet at a conveniently located private office in Ashburn, VA. Topics will include but not be limited to; emotional aspects of infertility, relaxation and self-healing techniques for enduring treatment, making decisions about infertility treatment, and maintaining intimate relationships during infertility. The group will run for 6-8 weeks, for two hours per session on a weekday evening, and the start date will be determined when a sufficient number of participants have expressed interest. Please contact me, Jessica Nemeth at for further information." A P.S. from me: Jessica rocks and this group sounded really cool so I wanted to post it here.
  • Chicklet at Blurb This! has started The Blurbit Barn, selling snarky and funny cards. Go over and take a look.
NEW BLOGS (started in August or September of 2007)
BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES:A new section. Celebrate your birthday or blogoversary with the community. Send me dates for September/October right now and I'll post them on the correct day.
  • Plain Jane Mom's birthday is today, September 17th. It's the big 4-0!
  • Polka Dot's wedding anniversary is today, September 17th. Go wish them a happy day.
  • Late again, but it was just Samantha's birthday at Southern Infertility. Go wish her a belated happy birthday.
  • LJ and Mr. Badger celebrated their wedding anniversary this weekend. Though they lost the Steeler's tickets, they did have a good day cuddling at home.
  • None Today.
MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT:Bed rest, scary scans, OHSS, and a host of other reasons why these bloggers could use some additional support right now. Also, celebrations!
  • New Midlife's Mommy's mother is ill and in the ICU. Please go over there and give her a hug.
  • A terraversary for Geohde of Mission:Impossible. Her baby would have been due today 17th if it wasn't for the anencephaly. Please go over and give her support--it's a very hard day.
  • Lisa P at More Than My Share is in the ICU. She hasn't updated her blog in a few months, but Catherine at Everything is Under Control posted a message from Lisa's husband about the situation over the weekend. Perhaps people can send messages to Lisa by leaving a comment on Catherine's blog, and Catherine can forward an email full of good thoughts to her husband.
  • Please also send some good thoughts to Sarah Solitaire who is taking her aunt to the hospital to have surgery on a cerebral aneurysm.
  • A problem close to my own heart, Infertili-Me found out that one of her twins is at risk for IUGR. Please go over and give her support.
  • Artblog is having a hard time with morning sickness. Please go over and give her a hug.
  • Katrina at A Single Woman's Journey to Motherhood had a faint positive at 11 dpo! Go over and wish her congratulations.
  • M at Infertility Loss...and Life received a very nice beta and her OHSS is stabilizing. Go over and wish her congratulations.
  • She may have dusty ovaries, but Leah also has a BFP! Go over and celebrate with Leah and her pee sticks.
  • Leah's pee twin, Erin from Vicious Cycle of Cycles, also received a positive this weekend! Go over and wish her congratulations.
  • Topcat is "doing the Cheesiest Most Delirious Happy Dance in All of the Land somewhere, deep down inside her psyche." Go over and wish her congratulations on her positive.
  • Rob and Dana from “It is not flesh and blood…” are proud to announce their new bundle of joy – a baby girl from Colombia born June 27, 2007. Go tell them how beautiful she is!

Thanks for the shout out. Too bad anyone stopping by for the first time will see a post that boldly displays my rampant neuroses. :-)

Can I just pause and say I'm always delighted when a bulletin is posted with "None Today" in the loss announcements. Let's hope we have many more of those in the future.

Thank you so much for recognizing me. I have been so out of the loop with the OHSS stuff....but I am getting better.
