Friday's Connections Abound

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The Face-to-Face Lost and Found page is permanently located beneath this current post. Old Connections Abound can be accessed via the date or subject archives listed on the sidebar. Check the submissions page, FAQ, and ways to get involved for additional information. Email me at with any questions/concerns.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the
infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

Connections Abound

  • Beagle's cats are on the web and need your votes. Click here and then click on the cheeseburgers right above the picture, you can choose 1-5 as a score. Obviously, a score of 5 is proper because they're so damn cute.
  • Eggs in a Basket is going invite-only: "I'm making my blogs invite-only, including my IF blog. If anyone wants to be read along, they can email me at, and I'll put 'em on the list of invitees."
  • If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!
NEW BLOGS (started in December 2007 or January 2008)
BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES: Celebrate your birthday or blogoversary with the community. Send me dates for January/February right now and I'll post them on the correct day.
  • Andrea Jennine's birthday is this weekend on Saturday. Go over and sing her happy birthday.
  • The Duchess's 2nd blogoversary is also on Saturday. Go over and wish her congratulations.
  • With enormous sadness and wishes for peace for A and S: Zoe, sister of Lennox, died yesterday afternoon. AMS has left the comments open on her blog. You can leave notes for Zoe, A, and S, here or here.
MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT AND CELEBRATIONS: Scary scans, anxious waits, OHSS, and a host of other reasons why these bloggers could use some additional support right now. Also, celebrations!
  • None Today.
BEDREST BABES: on bedrest following infertility or loss and needing support. Drop in on them and keep them company.
  • After a negative peestick the day before, Bleu received great news--a beta of 70. Go wish her congratulations.
  • Lady in Waiting at Purgatory had a fantastic beta too--240! Go celebrate the good news.
  • May at Problem Uterus had her baby on January 14th via emergency C-section. She had an amniotic fluid embolism and spent 11 days in ICU, and is now on dialysis, though she is home. Baby boy is fine.

A friend in need of all the prayers we wonderful women (and men) can give them: A dear friend of mine had her baby boy on January 21st, at 25w4d gestation. She had been hospitalized due to severe pre-eclampsia and her liver was beginning to fail. The baby is holding on...13 oz at birth, but is hanging in there, and has actually surprised everyone by fighting longer than they expected him to. It will be a long road for this family, and they can use all the prayers and support we can give them.

Wow- I made the Lost and Found! I'm famous!

Thanks for the support. I am doing better by the day and hope to hear promising things from the nephrologist regarding my kidney function at the end of this week.
