Friday's Connections Abound

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The Face-to-Face Lost and Found page is permanently located beneath this current post. Old Connections Abound can be accessed via the date or subject archives listed on the sidebar. Check the submissions page, FAQ, and ways to get involved for additional information. Email me at with any questions/concerns.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

Connections Abound

  • IComLeavWe is over. Sniff. The new list goes up Monday on September 1st.
  • Bridges continues to post daily. And it continues to be an amazing resource for insight into a multitude of worlds. And I'm not just saying that because I work on it.
  • Question: Sunny has a question about a strange IM shot (complete with fountain of blood). Head over if you can help.
  • Giveaway: A Sense of Humour is Essential is having a giveaway. "I'm having a Giveaway Contest for my Inaugural "WTF Wednesdays". Come over to my blog and if you can correctly guess the location and details of the picture, a bottle of Organic Shower Gel in either Lavender or Tuberose will be All Yours."
  • Just Needed to Post This: I received a random email this week that has nothing to do with IF but I still feel the need to post it. The 8th Annual NYC International Pickle Day:
An Event that Can't Be Contained is happening on Sunday, September 14th 2008, 11 am-4:30 pm on Orchard Street Between Broome and Grand Sts. in New York. I so wish I lived up there...
  • Project: Lori from Weebles Wobblog has launched Perfect Moment Mondays. You'll need to click over to read the details to participate. But I love this idea of holding onto those single moments each week. It feels like this way to create an online scrapbook within your blog.
  • Giveaway: Those crazy ladies at All Thumbs are giving away another book; this one is Fully Fertile. And it has yoga poses--how can you go wrong with yoga?
  • I have 42 posts currently for the first 100 Words project. Please click over to read and participate. The entries thus far have been incredible. My goal is to have a minimum of 48 so I can run a post every half hour. They are some of the most moving pieces of writing I've read all month.
  • If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!
NEW BLOGS (started in July or August 2008)
  • None Today.
BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES (celebrate your birthday or blogoversary with the community. Send me date at any point and I'll post them on the correct day)

LOSS REMEMBRANCES (send in the dates of loss anniversaries and I will post them on the correct day)
MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT AND CELEBRATIONS (scary scans, anxious waits, OHSS, and a host of other reasons why these bloggers could use some additional support right now. Also, celebratory retrievals, transfers, and other good news)
  • Update on My World's friend: "All of the good thoughts, prayers, comments etc must have gotten to the right ears because the tests came back negative for any and all genetic defects!"
  • Infertile? Who, Me? is having her beta today. Go over and give her good thoughts.
