Wednesday's Connections Abound

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The Face-to-Face Lost and Found page is permanently located beneath this current post. Old Connections Abound can be accessed via the date or subject archives listed on the sidebar. Check the submissions page, FAQ, and ways to get involved for additional information. Email me at thetowncriers@gmail.com with any questions/concerns.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS
New
  • IComLeavWe trucks along--2 more days of mindful commenting.
  • Bridges continues to post daily. And it continues to be an amazing resource for insight into a multitude of worlds. And I'm not just saying that because I work on it.
  • Listen Here: Babies or Not is going to be on a radioshow with an essay she wrote called "This I Believe." It will air on Wed Aug 27th at 6:35 am, 8:35 am and 5:44pm EDT. Go to her blog for details on how to listen no matter where you are in the world.
Old
  • Cyclesista: Cyclesista (if you don't know it, you should. You should seriously seriously know this site and use it because it absolutely rocks) is looking for a couple of people to take over and help Bea with the admin of the site. Interested people can email journeytothecentre@hotmail.com with a couple of sentences introducing themselves and what they might be able to contribute to the site as an admin.
  • Project: Lori from Weebles Wobblog has launched Perfect Moment Mondays. You'll need to click over to read the details to participate. But I love this idea of holding onto those single moments each week. It feels like this way to create an online scrapbook within your blog.
  • Giveaway: Those crazy ladies at All Thumbs are giving away another book; this one is Fully Fertile. And it has yoga poses--how can you go wrong with yoga?
  • I have 35 posts currently for the first 100 Words project. Please click over to read and participate. The entries thus far have been incredible. My goal is to have a minimum of 48 so I can run a post every half hour. They are some of the most moving pieces of writing I've read all month.
  • If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!
NEW BLOGS (started in July or August 2008)
BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES (celebrate your birthday or blogoversary with the community. Send me date at any point and I'll post them on the correct day)
  • Mel is celebrating her birthday today. Go over there and sing her a little song.
LOSS REMEMBRANCES (send in the dates of loss anniversaries and I will post them on the correct day)
  • None Today.
LOSS ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • Fertile Yet Infertile is most likely losing the twin--the fetal pole is too small and there is no heartbeat. Please go give her support.
MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT AND CELEBRATIONS (scary scans, anxious waits, OHSS, and a host of other reasons why these bloggers could use some additional support right now. Also, celebratory retrievals, transfers, and other good news)
  • More Than Just Dog Children could use some support as she waits through a very difficult adoption situation.
  • Just the Two of Us's profile is being sent to an expectant mother for a potential adoption situation.
  • Sara is back in the hospital due to serious contractions. Spot seems to be fine, but they may have to take some drastic measures (mag sulfate-shudder) to stop the contractions.
  • The Baby Chase is having a rough week and could use a hug.
  • Antigone’s dog Sothis was bitten by a copperhead snake but is recovering nicely.
  • Busted got a negative for this cycle. Please go give her a hug.
  • Niobe has been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and has been having a tough time.
  • Bella Vida had a total mindfuck this weekend with a false positive. Please go over and give her love.
  • ISO the Golden Egg starts stims Thursday. Go wish her good luck with this cycle.
  • Crazy Lady Ramblings got a negative. Please go over and give her a hug.
  • Meredith at A Uterus Divided could use some encouragement right now. She is 25 weeks and her cervix has further shortened and she is still having frequent contractions that are hard to control while she is on hospital bedrest.
  • Marie at Where is that Special Water? got back her husband's SA results and it wasn't good news. She could use some support and also use some advice on how to support him. It's also her 100th post.
  • After a strange but hopeful round of betas, Shinejil needs some people to distract her until she goes for an ultrasound on Thursday.
BEDREST BABES: on bedrest following infertility or loss and needing support. Drop in on them and keep them company.
PREGNANCY ANNOUNCEMENTS AND NEWS
BIRTH AND ADOPTION ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • The Trying Game gave birth to a girl, Maya, on August 24th. Go wish her congratulations.
  • Mommy to an Angel gave birth to a boy, Jack, this past weekend. Go wish her congratulations.
  • Owen (and everything after...) gave birth to Owen last Wednesday. Go wish her congratulations.
  • Shazz from BabyQuest gave birth to a boy, Maxx, at 25 weeks on August 24th. He weighs 835 grams (apparently a good weight for his gestational age). He was born breathing on his own, but is being assisted by machines until his lungs grow a bit more. He is stable and is pleasing the doctors with his progress so far. Wish Shazz, Nathan, and Maxx well through Brenda at Life Can Be a Shit. She has the capability to text them with your good wishes.
