Tuesday's Connections Abound

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The point to Lost and Found is to level the support playing field. When LFCA works correctly, the newest blogger with the smallest readership can receive the same level of support as the oldest blogger with the largest readership. Anyone can submit news to LFCA by clicking here.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

Connections Abound

  • What do you thinky about the new header and navigation bar?
  • Today is the first day of IComLeavWe--let the commenting begin!
  • Opportunity: Kristen at Sticky but Sweet has just been placed as the lead media buyer on a project regarding an infertility study at her job. The clinical trial is for a patch that would be an alternative to Clomid. Ferring Pharmaceuticals has developed several print advertising concepts to recruit people for the trial and she is looking for opinions on the messaging, layout, graphics, etc. on them. For example, is anything offensive to you? Would the ad generate your interest or curiosity enough to call? If not, what would you change to motivate someone to call for more information? Her proposal is due on Friday. If you are interested in participating in her focus group of sorts, please contact her at stickybean12@gmail.com so she can forward the ads to you for your feedback.
  • Newspaper Article: The St. Petersburg Times is running a seven part series on surrogacy. This is the first in the series.
  • Giveaway: Bee in the Bonnet is giving away a Nike+ kit. Go over to win.
  • Giveaway: Niobe is giving away free perfume.
  • Logos: TTC with DH through IVF... created a bunch of blog buttons for Infertility Awareness Week. You can go grab one from her site.
  • Question: Life In A Holding Pattern is looking for advice or for other's personal experiences with progesterone levels in early pregnancy. Her progesterone has continued to fall despite doubling HCG numbers and progesterone suppositories.
  • Question: K77 is looking for information about the safety of xrays of the pelvic region of baby boys. She's wondering what the chances are that xrays for supposed hip dysplasia could cause future infertility issues for her son.
  • Pop into everyone's world: it's My Sanctuary's Virtual World Tour.
  • Please go vote for Catherine's friend Carla's animal shelter to win $10,000.
  • Antigone's blog to see what a difference we made to the Google results of the Stillbirth Awareness and Research Act.
  • Project: Cara at Building Heavenly Bridges writes: "I have started an Angel Wall in my office. I spend a great deal of time in this room every day and find comfort looking up at the framed black and white images of our angelic children. I would be honored to add your baby's sweet face or name to the wall. I spend a few minutes just drinking them in and smiling before I begin writing. They inspire me. Please email me if you are interested at carajer@tds.net. Attach the photo, your baby's name and date they flew.
  • Um...hello...did you check out the new stuff happening with U.T.E.R.U.S.?
  • Bridges continues to post daily. And it continues to be an amazing resource for insight into a multitude of worlds. And I'm not just saying that because I work on it.
  • If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!
NEW BLOGS (started in September or October 2008)
BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES (celebrate your birthday or blogoversary with the community. Send me date at any point and I'll post them on the correct day)
  • Emily and Steve are celebrating their anniversary today. Go tell them congratulations!
  • Today is Mr. Spit's birthday. Go have some cake with him.
LOSS REMEMBRANCES (send in the dates of loss anniversaries and I will post them on the correct day)

  • G's third beta was too low. Please go give her support.
MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT AND CELEBRATIONS (scary scans, anxious waits, OHSS, and a host of other reasons why these bloggers could use some additional support right now. Also, celebratory retrievals, transfers, and other good news)
BEDREST BABES: on bedrest following infertility or loss and needing support. Drop in on them and keep them company.
  • Ten Times Crazier is in the hospital on bedrest for contractions and her cervix is dilating. She will be in the hospital until 34 weeks or until the twins come.
  • Gas Passer is on bedrest for the rest of her pregnancy.
  • A Uterus Divided is on bedrest.
