Tuesday's Connections Abound

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The point to Lost and Found is to level the support playing field. When LFCA works correctly, the newest blogger with the smallest readership can receive the same level of support as the oldest blogger with the largest readership. Anyone can submit news to LFCA by clicking here.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

Connections Abound

  • Still playing with Kirtsy: how about voting for this one by the Angry Infertile? I swear I'm not trying to take over Kirtsy, but we're 7.4 million people in America alone (which is 12.5% of the child-bearing age population). I'd like to get some of our stuff out there. And I like Kirtsy. It's my new time-user.
  • Kirtsy: I'm playing with Kirtsy. Will you vote for the Survival Guide?
  • Fundraiser: Nunn the Wiser has a great project going this season. She writes: "I am doing a holiday project this year to come up with nice presents, including preemie clothes, for the parents at my local hospital (where Henry was born) who have preemies in the NICU or SBCU over the holidays. Here are the details of the project:
http://flyingnunns.blogspot.com/2008/10/preemie-presents.html." If you're looking for something to occupy you this season, it's a great project.
  • New Online Magazine: "Exhale is a unique new literary magazine written for & by ordinary people who have faced extraordinary obstacles to getting/staying knocked up, or who have experienced stillbirth or infant death. We are currently accepting submissions for our very first issue, scheduled to be published right around New Years Eve, 2008. Please see our submission guidelines for details and requirements. The priority deadline for submissions for our first issue is December 15th, 2008.
  • The new IComLeavWe list opened and there is a way to do it even with Thanksgiving. Come join along and increase the comments on your blog.
  • Harriet the Spy is the current book club selection and everyone is invited to join along.
  • Bridges continues to post daily. And it continues to be an amazing resource for insight into a multitude of worlds. And I'm not just saying that because I work on it.
  • If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!
NEW BLOGS (started in October or November 2008)
BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES (celebrate your birthday or blogoversary with the community. Send me date at any point and I'll post them on the correct day)
  • Sprogblogger turned 39 yesterday. Go wish her happy birthday.
  • Dana celebrated her anniversary on Saturday. Go wish them congratulations.
  • It was Womb For Improvement's anniversary (with a great story on how they met) yesterday. Go wish them congratulations.
  • No Regrets just celebrated her birthday with the most amazing man by her side! She does not really need a cake but a birthday song would be great!
LOSS REMEMBRANCES (send in the dates of loss anniversaries and I will post them on the correct day)
  • This week is the week of remembering for Rebuilding Myself. November 11th last year is the day her water broke with Avery and Sophie. November 12th is the day they were born still. She could use a lot of support right now.
  • Nica's mother in law, that she cared for at home, passed away. She is grieving the loss very deeply and needs extra hugs and support. This url is a new blog that she has begun to mark the period of her and her husbands life after this tragic loss.
MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT AND CELEBRATIONS (scary scans, anxious waits, OHSS, and a host of other reasons why these bloggers could use some additional support right now. Also, celebratory retrievals, transfers, and other good news)
  • Fertility Now's beta wasn't as high as they wanted it. She is having a third beta on Wednesday. Please go over and support her.
  • Pancake Saturday is asking for prayers and good thoughts for a non-blogging friend. She writes: "She has two year-old twins via IUI/injectables and spontaneously conceived their new son. She is 26 weeks now, and her water broke. She also has an infection. She has received both rounds of steroid shots, and now it's just a waiting game."
  • Silly Uterus was hoping to have her transfer yesterday. She had 3 embryos growing on Saturday.
  • Abe's waiting for their beta after their FET. Go sit with them while they wait.
  • Tears are for Babies just had foot surgery. She was at home recovering and then had additional complications. She could use a hug and some well wishes.
  • Petunia just got a job offer and still gets to go on holiday! Go give her some congrats.
  • Barren Is The New Black is feeling lonely and hasn't seen her honey bee in a while. She could use some cheering up.
  • Emily's husband's mother is dying. Prayers and support would be appreciated.

  • AMS had an insane week last week and could use a hug as things calm down.
  • Polly has just received some exciting news from CCRM. Continue to keep fingers crossed for her!
  • Bonnie and K's adoption application paperwork is finished and turned in!

  • BethKyle's sister has finally come home from Iraq! Go over and celebrate with them!
  • Tabi matched with a surrogate. Go over and wish them congratulations.
BEDREST BABES: on bedrest following infertility or loss and needing support. Drop in on them and keep them company.
  • None Today.

Hi, I'm new to the blogger world - well, not quite true, I've been a reader for several months, but just started my own blog yesterday. Today was my first post. I'd like to let readers know about it. How do I do so? I'm not sure what category the blog would be in - probably "in the beginning" but I'll let you be the judge.
