Thursday's Connections Abound

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The point to Lost and Found is to level the support playing field. When LFCA works correctly, the newest blogger with the smallest readership can receive the same level of support as the oldest blogger with the largest readership. Anyone can submit news to LFCA by clicking here.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS
New
  • Kirtsy'd Pick O' the Day: Please vote for this one from The Non-Housewife. A post where the author explains what has kept her from joining a face-to-face support group as well as what made her realize how much she needed one. How do you vote? Simply by clicking on the link above and then clicking on the post's title. Why the Kirtsy'd Pick O' the Day? Click on that link in the header navigation bar above for the story. And send me stuff!
  • 115 people already on the The Creme de la Creme List. Are you?
  • Reporter Looking for Interviewees: this comes from a listserv so I don't know the writer at all. "Summary: Acupuncture and TCM success stories. Media Outlet/Publication: national consumer health magazine. "Please note that my anecdotes must be about women only, not men. I'm looking for a few fairly dramatic anecdotes about *women* who have benefited from any form of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). This could be acupuncture herbs, qigong, acupressure, etc. I definitely need a story from someone with an ongoing health issue who finally found relief thru acupuncture, after Western medicine had failed to deliver. I also could find a place for an anecdote about using acupuncture to enhance or replace traditional fertility treatments." If interested, email hildab@mindspring.com."
  • Question: Nicole could use some advice on getting through the 2WW for IVF #2.
  • Question: GreenEggsNHam would like some advice on writing a letter to the firstmother who is carrying her Ukulele.
  • Question: Alyson is needing some advice or recommendations for on-line programs to help her daughter's development of the English language. If you can recommend DVD's or other programs to increase her daughter's development skills, head on over and leave her a comment.
Old
  • Luna won the grand prize at the Infertility Haiku Contest! Go over and wish her congratulations.
  • Opportunity: an email from a blogger: "I got an email from Reproductive Health Specialists and in it they "advertised" a contest for a free round of IVF. The basics of it are that you have to be between 21 & 42 and have BASIC health insurance to enter. Deadline to enter is 12/31. The link for anyone who is interested is http://www.ivfpittsburgh.com/ They are located in Penn Hills and I believe are affiliated with UPMC Maggie."
  • New IComLeavWe list opened for December (with a caveat about participating over Christmas). Come join along and increase your comments.
  • Bridges continues to post daily. And it continues to be an amazing resource for insight into a multitude of worlds. And I'm not just saying that because I work on it.
  • If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!

Whew! This one took me quite awhile to get through as I had so much commenting to do on their blogs.

Once again - thank you Miss Mel. L&F is just a wonderful resource and so many people get so much out of it.
