Wednesday's Connections Abound

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The point to Lost and Found is to level the support playing field. When LFCA works correctly, the newest blogger with the smallest readership can receive the same level of support as the oldest blogger with the largest readership. Anyone can submit news to LFCA by clicking here.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

Connections Abound

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS
New
  • Vote: I'm a finalist for best medical/health blog for the Weblog Awards. I need your help to win (see, this is LFCA which is all about giving support. Pleeeease give me support, pleeeeease). Please click here and then click Stirrup Queens and then come back and read the rest of the LFCA. Spread the word by posting this message on your blog, emailing it out to friends, Twittering it, or sticking it on Facebook. You can vote once a day. Please, for the love of G-d, it's two clicks! I'm taking a one-week hiatus from the Kirtsy'd pick-o-the-day. It will return next Tuesday.
  • Searching for a Blogger: A fellow blogger was concerned with Navy Blue Elephant Trunks and was hoping everything was okay with Azure. If you write the blog or have a way of getting in touch with her, could you let her know that people are worried and holding her in their heart?
  • Question: Infertility on the Brain asks: "I had my 6w3d 1st ultrasound. The RE saw a yolk sac, but couldn't make out a heartbeat. I have to go back next Monday for another look. I don't know what to think. Will you ask on your next connections if anyone has been through this and what the result was, good or bad? I'd appreciate any insight."
  • Question: In Due Time has a question about becoming an egg donor. Head over if you can help.
  • Question: Mothering My Miracle Multiples has a question about getting a babysitter as well as specific questions about getting a babysitter for twins. Please head over if you can help.
Old
  • Opportunity: I was sent this group project by the Infertility Awareness Association of Canada so I can't vouch for the project, but it sounds interesting. It is open to anyone living in Ontario.
  • Creme de la Creme: The Creme de la Creme list was posted. I continue to add to it daily and update the date/time link on the right sidebar whenever there has been a change.
  • Bridges continues to post and it continues to be an amazing resource for insight into a multitude of worlds. And I'm not just saying that because I work on it.
  • If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!

A huge word up to Mel - please please please go vote for her. She will hit me later for plugging for her on here later, and she didn't put me up on this, but I'm stepping on my soapbox, because Mel's the sweetest thing ever.

*steps on box*

GO VOTE FOR MEL NOW!
She does SO much for our community and it takes less than two seconds to return the favor. So please, do go take a moment, tell your friends, or groups you can talk to. Vote at work and then from home. She deserves to win, and we owe it to help her.

*steps down*

Ahem. Thanks.

Amen, Sister LJ.

And as much as it's a vote for Mel each day, it's also a vote for the ALI community.

VOTE STIRRUP QUEENS!

azure is doing pretty well, she is in remission and undergoing some extra chemo just to be on the safe side. If people leave navyblue a comment on her old site, she will email you a link to the one where she is posting about azure.
