328th Issue of the LFCA

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The point to Lost and Found is to level the support playing field. When LFCA works correctly, the newest blogger with the smallest readership can receive the same level of support as the oldest blogger with the largest readership. Anyone can submit news to LFCA by clicking here.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the
infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS
New
  • Kirtsy'd Pick O' the Day: Please vote for this one from Bloorb. An extremely honest post about the danger of equating the lack of pregnancy to the ability to drink alcohol. Due to infertility, "our habits changed, our quantity changed, and our frequency changed. And none of those changes were positive." How do you vote? Simply by clicking on the words "this one" above and then clicking on the post's title. Why the Kirtsy'd Pick O' the Day? Click on that link in the header navigation bar above for the story. And send me stuff!
  • Helpful Article: Mission: Impossible wrote a great article about IVF for Raising Twins. It goes step by step through the procedure.
  • Question: Duck and Duck's Helper are 6dp3dt and GC is having cramps. Since neither know a lot about cramping after transfer, they wanted the opinion of experienced IVF cyclers.
  • Question: It's Not a Clown Car got an email recently from a reader who has premature ovarian failure and who has parasites attacking her ovaries. If anyone has any experience with this issue or knows someone who has, please pop on over to Karen's blog or send her an email directly (chezperky@gmail.com) as she's hoping to be able to pass some resources on to this reader. Thanks a million!
Old
  • Join Along: Melissa is holding a book tour/shower for the U.S. release of Tertia's book, So Close. Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to come to the online party.
  • If you see strange dotted lines appearing in the blogroll, ignore them. Cassandra and I have a system for making the changes and they'll be gone soon.
  • Creme de la Creme: The Creme de la Creme list was posted. I continue to add to it daily and update the date/time link on the right sidebar whenever there has been a change.
  • If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!

We've been TTC since June 2006. My gyn has blown me off, saying "You're young, it'll happen," since I'm 'only' 28. Today I finally went to see an infertility specialist and came away with some surprises: my uterus is tipped backwards (how, in ten years, did my original gyn not notice?!?) and I have endometriosis.

I don't know where to begin. Are there any suggestions for good endo resources? I've never had surgery, so I'm pretty freaked out about the laproscopic surgery in a couple weeks. I could really use some reassurance!

@Erica....Welcome to the club.... I have a retroverted uterus, which the lap was supposed to correct. My uterus still tips crazy.

Searching the Internet...I found that retroversion is not directly linked to infertility....but who knows!

Erica, I also have a retroverted uterus, and endometriosis. Your gyne might have noted it but not told you because he didn't think it was a big deal. Sometimes it isn't and for example, it never affected whether I got pregnant.

But it can be a sign of endo or fibroids or other uterine issues, so your lap should tell you what's going on. I've had a couple, and they are no big deal as long as you take the painkillers afterwards. Don't be a hero! The gas that floats out your shoulders can be painful, and the painkillers help a lot a lot a lot.

The good news is that fertility can dramatically improve after a lap for at least six months, so depending on what he finds, this could be excellent for you.

Mel has a list of good books and links on her sidebar. And really Dr.Google has been a godsend. Take care.
