Tuesday's Connections Abound

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The point to Lost and Found is to level the support playing field. When LFCA works correctly, the newest blogger with the smallest readership can receive the same level of support as the oldest blogger with the largest readership. Anyone can submit news to LFCA by clicking here.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the
infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

Connections Abound

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS
New
  • Kirtsy'd Pick O' the Day: Please vote for this one from Life in the Polar North Defrosts. A thought-provoking post from a woman who became a mother through adoption nine months ago and through birth three weeks ago. She grapples with answering whether the love for an adopted and biological child is the same based on her experience. How do you vote? Simply by clicking on the words "this one" above and then clicking on the post's title. Why the Kirtsy'd Pick O' the Day? Click on that link in the header navigation bar above for the story. And send me stuff!
  • Memorial Album: Where To Go From Here has information up on her blog about a memorial album that is being created to take to the legislators when First Candle is working for infant loss research.
  • Brochure: The AFA posted their new Infertility Prevention Handbook. Seems like it may be a tad late for the majority of us, but still, wanted to pass it along.
Old
  • Helpful Post: Infertility on the Brain! has a post about infertility and taxes.
  • Call for Nominations: Glow in the Woods is calling for nominations for the Glow in the Woods awards. Go over and tell them the best posts you've recently read.
  • If you see strange dotted lines appearing in the blogroll, ignore them. Cassandra and I have a system for making the changes and they'll be gone soon.
  • Creme de la Creme: The Creme de la Creme list was posted. I continue to add to it daily and update the date/time link on the right sidebar whenever there has been a change.
  • If you notice another loading slow down or receive error messages for Stirrup Queens or Lost and Found, please let me know. Now I'm nervous every time I add anything to the side bar!
NEW BLOGS (started in January or February 2009)
  • None Today.

  • Alison is have a tough time with her latest IVF cycle. Out of five eggs retrieved on Sunday, three have fertilized and the doctors are recommending a two-day transfer. Please go offer encouragement.

  • Heather is on bedrest for the foreseeable future after having a cerclage put in. Sweetpea is still doing great!

PREGNANCY ANNOUNCEMENTS AND NEWS
BIRTH AND ADOPTION ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • LeAnne's twin boys, Jesse and Layne, were born on the 8th. They are small and remain in intensive care but are strong (and very handsome!). Congratulate her and give them your support.

This site doesn't work. Your clickers have cliques, and many people are missed who need support.

All due respect, Anonymous, if anyone isn't receiving support, it is because they aren't fulfilling their end of the partnership by asking for it. Anyone can have their news appear here, and many people post their own blurbs. The Clickers look around for news, but they are humans and unpaid and do their best. But the ultimate responsibility for someone who wishes to receive support is to ask for it by placing a blurb via the submission form.

This is why this statement is at the top of every post:
Anyone can submit news to LFCA by clicking here.

Anon, Lolli does an AMAZING job here (for no $ I might add), and the clickers are volunteers and (I gather from Lolli's occasional need for them) come and go. If you are the one missing support, I'm incredibly sorry, and I encourage you (if no one is reading your blog) to submit something for yourself. Then you'll get some people to click over. If you're seeing someone else suffering, please write Lolli at her posted email and tell her, and she'll put it up here. It's that easy.

Slate has an interesting, if somewhat inaccurate, portrayal of why IVF should be covered by insurance. Worth the read, find it at http://www.slate.com/id/2211151/pagenum/all/#p2

Might be worth putting on the LFCA.

Anon ... the support I received through this site literally saved my sanity and spiritual health during a really f*cked up time.

If it's you that needs support, I urge you to submit your own call to arms.

They care. I promise.

Lollipop you rock. I see no cliques.
