592nd Issue of the LFCA

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The point of Lost and Found is to level the support playing field. When LFCA works correctly, the newest blogger with the smallest readership can receive the same level of support as the oldest blogger with the largest readership. Anyone can submit news to LFCA by clicking here.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the
infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

Connections Abound

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS
New
  • Throwing This to a Vote: a request for a new "must read" section or an addition of important posts to the miscellaneous news section has been made. I've done this a few times in the past, but would like to either formalize this and say that we're going to include those types of posts, or make a decision not to highlight posts we read that we love. I'd like this to be a simple nod towards something that someone read that seems important for other people to read because it was either well-said or contains important information. Please leave your thoughts in the comment section below if you would either like to see this or keep the LFCA strictly news bites.
Old
  • First Time Reading the LFCA: If this is your first time reading the LFCA or you need a refresher about how the LFCA works, please read this post. It has everything you need to know about getting your news in the LFCA.
  • Quicklink Resources: Forums: Join the forums if you'd like additional access to the bulletin boards and other features. Any blog reader or writer can become a member of the forums by clicking here and registering. Regular ALI Blogroll: If you would like your blog added to the ALI blogroll, please email me directly with your blog url and category pick. More information about being added is contained in that link. Password-Protected Blogroll: If you would like your password-protected blog added to the blogroll, please fill out the form.

I love the "must read" idea!! I am always on the lookout for new information/blogs to read, so this would be appreciated.

I love the idea as well. Anything that promotes readership to great posts!!

LOVE the idea of a "must read" section :) Although, I've always considered the Friday Blog Roundup a "must read" of the community.

Ditto to ifcrossroads' comment - neat idea, but is it replacing the Blog Roundup? Will it become a launching pad for the Roundup each week? Just curious.

I like the idea too (miss the Kirtsy picks) -- always looking for those hidden gems I might not know about -- but would never want to replace the Friday Roundup on your own blog.

Maybe you could put that section at the bottom of the LFCA, so that the "hard news" stays at the top of the page.

I like the Must Read idea also.

I like the idea of a must read section, but I'm not over the moon excited by it - either way would be okay I think

I would really prefer for LFCA to be the way it has been. Not that I don't like changes, but still, I don't see its purpose.

Will every 'must read' persist on every issue of LFCA? If not, then why change?

I kind of think that the must read is more of a round up type thing. But I wouldn't be opposed, I just think it would fit better elsewhere.

I always see the Friday Bog round up as the must reads of the IF community. And I like LFCA the way it is, but change is usually good too. So whatever you decide is great :)

As a newby to this awesome incredible ALI blogging community I LOVE LOVE LOVE all of the community projects. LFCA is brilliant. I can't wait for my first ICLW. The Creme de la Creme is unreal in the most wonderful way. All of these things make me feel so welcome. It feels so good to have an online 'home' here.

I too love the Friday Blog Roundup, but I thought that was a place for Mel to write about her favorite posts. I'd love to be able to participate by submitting 'must reads' in the same way that we submit LFCA news.

You are all such talented writers and have an uncanny ability to read my mind and translate my mixed up thoughts into thoughtful eloquent posts. And I want to read them all!

I like the idea of the "Must Read" section. I also agree with maybe putting it at the bottom.
