600th Issue of the LFCA

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The point of Lost and Found is to level the support playing field. When LFCA works correctly, the newest blogger with the smallest readership can receive the same level of support as the oldest blogger with the largest readership. Anyone can submit news to LFCA by clicking here.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the
infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS
New
  • Hot damn--this is the 600th issue of the LFCA.
  • IComLeavWe: the new list for July is now open.
  • Recommendation: Sue at So Dear and Yet So Far is looking for a new Shrink/Therapist specializing in infertility/pregnancy/adoption in the southwest Ohio area. Please let her know if you have any recommendations.
  • Project: Jessa is helping to organize a card drive for a friend who was diagnosed with cervical cancer during her pregnancy last year. While baby is just fine, mother is not as she's dealing with both cancer treatments and no health insurance. Head on over to Jessa's blog to find out how you can participate in the card drive to send her a little bit of love and support during this rough time; mailing of cards will take place on July 15.
  • Advice: Kristi is looking for suggestions on improving her egg quality for IVF #3. Leave her ideas in her comment section.
  • Advice: Gwinne is deliberating whether to do a Follistim IUI or an IVF attempt before returning to natural cycles in the fall. After 14 IUIs and 1 IVF in the past two years, she's poor responder who has tried it all. She'd appreciate whatever advice, opinions, and anecdotes you'd like to pass on.
  • Advice: Manapan is applying to a counseling program and is planning to specialize in helping people struggling through infertility and pregnancy and infant loss. She is hoping you will share your thoughts on what you would need and want in a counselor to help her with her training.
  • Advice: Oak writes, "We just finished up with what appears to be an unsuccessful IUI cycle and I'm pretty confused about the causes of my infertility. I have erratic Estradiol levels, no free testosterone and off the charts SHBG levels. I'm wondering if there are any other IF'ers that have found the root cause of their issues being hormonal imbalances that fertility drugs have no effect on?"

NEW BLOGS (started in May or June 2010)
  • None Today (more added soon).
BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES (celebrate your birthday or blogoversary with the community. Send me date at any point and I'll post them on the correct day)
  • Life in a Holding Pattern is celebrating her birthday on Sunday. Go sing her a little song.
  • Sticky Feet is also celebrating her birthday on Sunday. Go have a slice of cake with her.
  • JC celebrated her anniversary on Wednesday. Go wish her congratulations.
  • In Due Time's infertility journey began six years ago July 1st. She's still childless.
  • Journeywoman celebrated her anniversary on Wednesday. Go over and wish them congratulations.
LOSS REMEMBRANCES (send in the dates of loss anniversaries and I will post them on the correct day)
  • Little Footprints is quickly approaching the 1-year anniversary of Maddie's loss on July 7th and is having a tough time sorting out her feelings of sadness and loss amidst the feelings of joy in preparing to welcome her new baby girl.
  • Britt is approaching a very difficult week. Ella Grace's due date, who was stillborn 03/04/10, is 07/14, Britt's birthday is 07/15 and a previous miscarriage (NuNu) due date is 07/17. It's all happening within 4 days. Please keep Britt's family in your thoughts...it's going to be a tough week! July should be full of joy, but instead is proving to be very difficult.
LOSS ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • Jenn and Rob recently found out they were expecting triplets. Jenn started bleeding and an ultrasound revealed that they lost baby C; baby C stopped developing at 6 weeks, 2 days. Babies A and B are still doing fine. Please stop by and offer kind words to remember baby C.
  • Barb and Ray lost their little poppet on Wednesday. No heartbeat was found during a scan. Please go give them some support.
MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT AND CELEBRATIONS (scary scans, anxious waits, OHSS, and a host of other reasons why these bloggers could use some additional support right now. Also, celebratory retrievals, transfers, and other good news)
  • Erica is feeling broken and alone in the face of yet more pregnancy announcements. Give her a hug.
  • Skrambled transferred three beautiful blasts. Wish her well as she begins the Wait Until Beta!
  • First Comes Love had a negative test at 10dp3dt. This is the end of their treatment road. She could use lots of hugs right now.
  • AZMamma has an appointment with her midwife tomorrow at 9am for a pregnancy test to determine if her 1st Femara cycle was successful or not.
  • Hannah had two excellent embryos transferred on Thursday. Go send her lots of sticky vibes as for her 2ww.
BEDREST BABES: on bedrest following infertility or loss and needing support. Drop in on them and keep them company.
  • Romancing the Stone is on bedrest at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, after her IVF baby decided to make his presence known at the Home Depot! She's been in the hospital for three weeks, with four more to go. Baby and Momma are doing great, but they will deliver him early, and he will stay in the NICU for 1-2 months.
  • Potty Mouth Mommy made it to the 28 week milestone! Still having contractions but holding strong while on bed rest with no cervical changes!
  • Little Footprints has made it to 36 weeks! She is anxiously awaiting the birth of her baby girl and waiting out the last few weeks of bedrest.
  • Adventures of Student RN Tiffany has made it to 26 weeks and after a week filled with a car accident (on the way to the doctors) and variable decelarations of Baby Nolan's Heart rate, she is hoping that next week is filled with uneventful bedrest days.
  • Project Progeny is on bedrest, but doing better. Please go keep her company.
  • Noelle is in the hospital until the doctors feel it's safe to deliver B. She's terrified and could use any good thoughts or prayers you have. She's 28 weeks and dealing with severe IUGR, loss of cord blood flow, marginal cord insertion and placenta previa. The doctors are holding off hoping B can have a little more time inside.
  • Not the Path I Chose is on modified bedrest at home, although her blood pressure has been creeping up recently. She could use a visit while the twins keep baking!
  • A Family With Ann Ovulation is on modified bedrest after a visit to L&D for contractions (around 32 weeks). She could use a little visit!
PREGNANCY ANNOUNCEMENTS AND NEWS
  • Mrs. Gamgee is 18 weeks and has been diagosed with high blood pressure. Her doctor has prescribed a category C medication, and she is wondering if anyone else has experience with taking Trandate or Lobetalol during pregnancy.
  • It's a boy for MrsBro!
  • One More Time, With Feeling got a positive hpt, but her beta is only 26. She can't recheck until Monday, and she needs some support and encouragement to get her though the weekend.
BIRTH AND ADOPTION ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • None Today.
