627th Issue of the LFCA

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The point of Lost and Found is to level the support playing field. When LFCA works correctly, the newest blogger with the smallest readership can receive the same level of support as the oldest blogger with the largest readership. Anyone can submit news to LFCA by clicking here.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the
infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

Connections Abound

  • Blogroll: We crossed over 2500 blogs on the blogroll. Yes, I will be pruning dead links from the blogroll soon, so that number will change. But damn -- 100 blogs to 2500+ blogs? Insanity. Fantastic insanity that people are finding their voice and using it. Terrible insanity that there are so many people out there experiencing infertility.
  • Simply Because I Still Love This: This song may be the best tension-breaker ever.
  • Book: N and J from Two Hot Mamas announced that J's children's book is almost ready (it's back from the printer, and she's going to announce sale information soon). [Editor's note: I've seen it and it rocks. It's not only visually beautiful, but it has a great rhythm to the words. I showed a draft to the twins years ago when they read picture books and they loved it.]
  • Lost Blogger: Illanare asks, "Does anyone know where C from Cats With Passports is? She hasn't updated for a couple of months - hopefully she is just too busy with her baby..."
  • Vote: A.M.S. writes, "Olivia Moonpie is trying to win a $25000 scholarship from Gerber and she needs your help. Please vote for her every day in the month of September to help her chances of being a monthly and (more importantly) the grand prize winner! Vote Here."
  • Blog Move: Ally, from Life in the CatPad, is moving from Blogger to WordPress. It's a move based on the worry that some colleagues may find her site and in the hopes of a fresh start. However, she sincerely hopes her dear readers don't get lost in the shuffle!
  • Question: Jessica would appreciate hearing from anyone who has had elevated NK cells or DQ Alpha match.
  • Giveaway: Two Kayaks is giving away a shirt for a brown-eyed baby girl. Hurry, the winner will be announced on Wednesday!
  • Giveaway: In This Storm is having a giveaway! Feel free to stop by and enter to win.
  • First Time Reading the LFCA: If this is your first time reading the LFCA or you need a refresher about how the LFCA works, please read this post. It has everything you need to know about getting your news in the LFCA.
  • Quicklink Resources: Regular ALI Blogroll: If you would like your blog added to the ALI blogroll, please email me directly with your blog url and category pick. More information about being added is contained in that link. Password-Protected Blogroll: If you would like your password-protected blog added to the blogroll, please fill out the form.

  • Thursday, September 2 was one year since Mattie's daughter, Shyla Joy, was born still.
  • September 18 marks one year since Mrs. Unexpected said goodbye to her baby after a missed miscarriage. Please support her as she remembers her short pregnancy with her Cricket.

  • After multiple miscarriages, Air Force Mummy is saddened by the 6 week anniversary of her baby boy David's passing.

  • Please stop by and give One Day lots of love. After receiving her second dose of methotrexate for an ectopic, she had a high resolution ultrasound which showed that her pregnancy was never ectopic at all. She is crushed.
  • After losing her beautiful boy Trenton James in January, Trisha is suffering through a miscarriage that comes on the heels of a chemical pregnancy in May. Please go and surround her with love. She certainly needs this community right now.
  • Mrs. A just lost her grandpa and could use some love.
MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT AND CELEBRATIONS (scary scans, anxious waits, OHSS, and a host of other reasons why these bloggers could use some additional support right now. Also, celebratory retrievals, transfers, and other good news)

  • R is Moody's godson has been diagnosed with neuroblastoma. Please go and wait with her as she and his family wait for his surgery this week.
  • Angie is beginning the 2 week wait after her first IUI. Good thoughts would be appreciated!
  • Exactly one year after hearing her daughter's heart had stopped beating and learning she would be stillborn, Mattie had her first ultrasound for her rainbow on August 31st. They did not see what they need to be seeing at this point. Her next blood draw to check her levels will be Thursday and another ultrasound will be Tuesday. She needs lots of prayers for high levels and a heartbeat!
  • Heather at Big P and Me is spotting, marking another failed cycle. Go give her a hug.
  • Mrs H and her husband are going to meet their expectant mom for the first time this weekend. Depending on how that visit goes they will decide whether or not to continue with the match. It's been an agonizing, roller coaster of a week for them. They could use anything you've got to give ... love, support or insights!
  • Sara is looking for advice and tips as she gets ready for her first IVF. Please visit and offer your support.
  • Louise and her DH have been matched! The expectant mom is on bedrest until the end of her pregnancy in 2 weeks. They have yet to have their first meeting, and it looks like it won't happen until after the baby comes.
  • Kym says "It's over. Everything. No more starting lines, no more waiting, no more hoping, no more hope." Stop by and surround her with love.
