688th Issue of the LFCA

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The point of Lost and Found is to level the support playing field. When LFCA works correctly, the newest blogger with the smallest readership can receive the same level of support as the oldest blogger with the largest readership. Anyone can submit news to LFCA by clicking here.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the
infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

  • Grants: Parenthood For Me is now taking applications for Adoption and IF grants for the 2011 year!
  • Help a Blogger Out: Soapchick writes, "Please check out my blog where you will find a link to another blog called It's in the Genes. She is a friend of a friend who has stage 4 genetic breast cancer and is in the process of writing her memoir. For some reason her agent wants to see her blog reach 5000 subscribers before she will shop her book."
  • In Philadelphia: Michele, from My Life After Loss is the coordinator for the Face2Face Philadelphia Suburbs group (sponsored by Faces of Loss, Faces of Hope). If you have struggled with infertility, miscarriage, loss, or pregnancy after loss, please join us for coffee and chitchat on Friday, Feb 11th in Lansdale. RSVP by Thursday, Feb 10th.
  • Daily Creme Update: There are currently 291 participants on the Creme de la Creme list (and 370 total currently in the queue to get on the list). The list is now closed. Make sure to check back often as new posts will go up daily.

  • Hillary is excited that her 35th birthday will be on Thursday, February 10th but somewhat nervous that it now puts her in "that category" for advanced maternal age group.

LOSS ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • Katie lost her beautiful baby girl, Grace, at the end of January, at only 22 weeks gestation. Please give her all your support.
  • Whitney could use some support & encouragement as she recovers from her 4th miscarriage following her 5th IVF cycle in addition to the death of her Grandma.
MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT AND CELEBRATIONS (scary scans, anxious waits, OHSS, and a host of other reasons why these bloggers could use some additional support right now. Also, celebratory retrievals, transfers, and other good news)
  • Hanen had her embryo transfer. Please sit with her in the wait.
  • Paige just received an extremely negative comment concerning her grief over losing Sweet Pea on her most recent blogpost and could use some positive support.
  • Jennifer has announced that she and her family are adopting another child from Ethiopia!
  • Almost There learned that her progesterone is low, which makes her very nervous as she's in the 2ww and an HPT showed the trigger is all out of her system. Hold her hand while she waits.
  • Adopt to Change is coming up to a year anniversary of being on the adoption wait list and needs your support. She hasn't had any adoption news for her whole list year since her homestudy was completed and could use some words of encouragement as she gets ready to mark this milestone on March 1st.
BEDREST BABES: on bedrest following infertility or loss and needing support. Drop in on them and keep them company. Blurbs running underneath the "new" line are from this week, and the ones above that line will disappear on Sunday. Please do not re-list bedrest blurbs.

PREGNANCY ANNOUNCEMENTS AND NEWS
  • After 4+ years of TTC, including struggles with endo, POI, and male factor, Willow is pregnant following her first donor egg cycle! Please go celebrate with her as she hopes & prays that all continues to go well.
  • With 5 weeks to go, Amy is feeling scattered trying to get her brain and body ready for her new arrival. She could use some peaceful thoughts.
  • Baby Hurdle the Turtle looks good on recent ultrasounds but The Infertile Turtle is having a lot of scary bleeding at 9 weeks and could use kind thoughts and support.
