695th Issue of the LFCA

Welcome to today's edition of Connections Abound. The point of Lost and Found is to level the support playing field. When LFCA works correctly, the newest blogger with the smallest readership can receive the same level of support as the oldest blogger with the largest readership. Anyone can submit news to LFCA by clicking here.

Lost and Found is open to anyone in the
infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, pregnancy-and-parenting after infertility, assisted conception, living child-free after infertility or loss community (as well as anyone I inadvertently missed on that list). Please support the list as well as anyone posting announcements below.

Connections Abound

  • Media: I was contacted by a filmmaker who is looking for subjects for a documentary. She writes, "I am in the development phase of a documentary project on single midlife women seeking to become first-time mothers and ran across your site. I am looking for a diverse pool of single midlife women willing to share their stories of the heartache, trials, social stigma and joys faced in their journeys toward motherhood. These midlife subjects may come from any walk of life -- lesbian, cancer survivors, disabled or women who have endured alone the trauma of infertility -- but their central desire is to become a mother." If you are interested, you can contact Rhonda via email.

  • Delayed in DINKville is currently experiencing her third loss. Please give her support.
  • Singular Desire experienced the arrest of Baby B's heartbeat in the 7th week and then suffered a missed miscarriage of Baby A three and a half weeks later. She feels she's had two losses at once and at almost 41, feels hopeless and afraid. She could use some support.
  • Annette experienced a loss at 7 weeks of pregnancy, less than a year after her full term stillbirth. Please give her support.
  • Emily lost her first child, Aidan, at 23 weeks. She is 17 weeks pregnant and her water broke and she is in danger of losing her second baby. Please stop by her blog and let her know you are thinking of her.
  • Please go flood Marissa with love and support. Her viability ultrasound at 7w1d revealed an empty sac.
  • Anxious Mom of Waiting for Baby Squishy found out at K's scan that their squishy had no heartbeat. Please offer support.
MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORT AND CELEBRATIONS (scary scans, anxious waits, OHSS, and a host of other reasons why these bloggers could use some additional support right now. Also, celebratory retrievals, transfers, and other good news)
  • Elisa and Nathan are both battling cancer at the same time. Friends and family have made a website to support them. There is an icon on the right sidebar where you can send them a message.
  • Gwinne's beta numbers aren't doubling as she'd hoped. Please head on over and offer her support.
  • After a long and excruciating internal battle, Kristen made the decision to put her cat of 18 years, Mindy, to sleep. Please send her some virtual hugs as she grieves this loss.
  • Kaitake has just received some devastating news. She and her husband now have confirmation that they will have to wait 2 years before they can get on an 18 month waiting list for access to public funding for fertility treatment in New Zealand. Please go send her lots of hugs and support during this awful time.
  • M from A Miracle for Us was rear-ended yesterday. She is sore but okay. Send her some extra healing thoughts for a fast recovery.
  • Dora at My Preconceived Notion writes, "I have a guest post from a woman who is seeking legal help with a third-party reproduction nightmare. Please click over and read. Even if you can't help, maybe you know someone who can. Or you know someone who knows someone. Or just to leave her some words of encouragement. She is one of us."
  • Sunnymama has started a new IVF cycle and would love others to call by and share images and words of hope at her new weekly link collection Sharing Hope.
  • Storm in My Teacup writes, "Happy to report that my moxie has returned--thanks to the wonderful LFCA support."
  • This Hampton Life of Mine is struggling with secondary infertility. Please go over and give her support.
  • Please stop by and give your support to A Story of Two Moms. One of their triplet sons, Linus, has just had heart surgery and is struggling.
BEDREST BABES: on bedrest following infertility or loss and needing support. Drop in on them and keep them company. Blurbs running underneath the "new" line are from this week, and the ones above that line will disappear on Sunday. Please do not re-list bedrest blurbs.
  • None Today.
  • AFM asks, "I am currently 19 weeks pregnant after 3 losses. The main thing that is concerning me is that my hair is falling out. I thought it was meant to grow lush and thick during pregnancy. I have asked my midwife who shrugged me off. I am wondering if this has happened to anyone else and whether I need to be as worried as I am, or if it is just unnecessary anxiety. Any thought greatly appreciated."
  • Birdie got a BFP! Show her some love.
  • It's a BFP for Roccie! Stop by and wish her a huge congratulations on her great first beta!
  • It's a BFP and a series of great betas for One Day! Stop by and celebrate with her!
  • The good news is there's a heartbeat for Alex! The not so good news is that there is also subchorionic hematoma right along the gestational sac. Stop by and wish her well.
